This is Paul

Paul would want ALL of us to demonstrate that same type of behavior. I pick my moments, but sometimes you can really see when a person is just down on their luck and need a compassionate word of encouragement.
i_am_hymn:
It's all about interdependence. With every word we say we create, with each passing now moment. We need everyone around us to do well and to do the right things so we can ultimately benefit from it. If everyone was on the right path, there would be peace from less things to be stressful about. How often do we look at people and see a bit of ourselves in reflection... I am he, as you are he, as you are me, and we are all together...
Very nicely said you two!

Not to be cynical but I do this all the time myself without the praise and fawning... th0ugh I do think it's a nice story and don't forget, Paul may be the 1% but he came from humble backgrounds.
well said kathryn.. some of the nonsense written here is beyond belief...big deal, paul chats to a homeless person...big deal. infact paul should take a leaf out of the book of fellow scouser/comedian/actor ricky tomlinson. ricky is not the wealthiest man going..infact he is modestly wealthy..didnt stop him giving away nearly all his fortune to needy kids.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1326446/Royle-Family-star-Ricky-Tomlinson-gives-1million-sick-children-charity.html a truely amazing gesture that really should be applauded and fawned over.. i heard a story on the radio quite recently that this gift equated to 90% of this guys worth!....beat that one mr mccartney p.s i will add that paul is of course a very generous person in general who has done loads for charities down the years..he does however have far too much money and he should be doing even more in my opinion..although its his money and his right to do what he wants with it because hes earned it.!

'Ees a gud skin, y'know loike-- and he seems to be on the same page as a certain stonecutter (who wished to be a sculptor), i.e. the one he kept in his wallet...One of the reasons he is so admired is that he sets a great example, even when no one appears to be watching...

Way to bring the party down. Can't you see anything nice about this? Good for everyone who does this, and good for Paul who does it when no one is looking. That's the point...and we really don't know what Paul does for charities because he doesn't bandy it about. He probably does a lot more than he reports.

I think the whole point of the article/picture is to show that Paul isn't embarrassed to speak to a homeless man. Why should he be? Because he's wealthy and the homeless man isn't? Maybe Paul isn't embarrassed to speak to him because he knows he does his share to help people, and he recognizes that this man isn't just a "homeless man." He's a man, and Paul didn't feel that it was "beneath" him to speak to the man, as some people who are way less wealthy than Paul would feel. I think that's the point. It doesn't give me a kick in life to see a homeless person. It gives me a kick in life to know there are still people out there who are kind and generous and don't use their station in life as an excuse to ignore those less fortunate than they. Whatever...guess I'm just sentimental when I hear nice stories instead of horrible ones.

Lazy...speaking of having more money than you need...Jay Leno of the Tonight Show took a paycut so that more people wouldn't be laid off at NBC. I know it doesn't have anything to do with that pic of Paul but just another do good story. oh...BTW...his salary is now 20 million rather than 25 million.

There is something special about someone, anyone taking the time to talk to people on the street. 99.9 of the people probably walk past them. Paul made his money by selling an optional product. Not, oil, gas, etc. He sold his talent and people by the masses bought it. No one was forced to or need to buy into this. People did wanted to. That makes his fortune well deserved. How he and/or we spend our money is our business. There have been stories he pays for much of the education of his extended family. Neil Aspinall's cancer treatments in NY, etc. etc.

Growing up as a child, and taking in these lyrics from the Beatles, as well as all of the other similar lyrics... it's hitting me once again, how the Beatles were a such heavy influence to the the heart of who I turned out to be as well as other friends of mine... All You Need is Love, The Frog Chorus, The End... not just songs, but words to live by... I think about all of the times when no one is there to take a picture... or no one would know that you lent a hand, or did a good deed... and you do it anyway... interdependence is a really good word... human to human... we're all sharing this planet... It's a very inspirational photo... compassion and encouragement So nice to see...

yes good point oobu.. however i stick by my conclusion...if i was paul i would be embarrassed to have such huge wealth and then talk to a man who dosent even have a place to sleep on a night... im not questioning pauls right to his wealth as someone is is blurting on about of course paul deserves every penny he's earned....infact im glad paul is seen to be quite responsible/classy with his actions with regards his wealth[unlike other rock stars...sorry elton] however i still have a problem with any human with that kind of wealth whilst there are children starving in the world....its a complete moral personal point of view and i am keeping it. paul mccartney cant change the world alone mind..however he could release 90% of his huge wealth to needy causes and still live the fantastic money fuelled celebrity life AND sleep better.......

I think it's neat Paul talked with this guy. I know it's none of my business but I would love to know what he said to him. And who knows, maybe Paul offered to help in some way. Sometimes you can offer help and that person does not want it. Anyway it's a neat story.

I just saw this on tumblr: The person who put this said is from Rolling Stone Magazine. I don't think they were talkin' about that theory...

I don't think they were talking about that theory either.

I'm glad Chris asked Paul about The End lyrics... Paul's response was the more you give, the more you get... When I see these two photos, it makes me think about all the times that no one was around to actually photograph Paul, yet you know there were other times. It is very heartwarming to see Paul's caring attitude, not only in a Saturday Night Live skit, but years later, still giving, while no one is looking. A picture is truly worth a 1,000 words and it show's us Paul's heart. Very beautiful!! He is so respectful to these homeless men.. it really makes me smile.

I always loved that skit thanks for posting that
