"[..] As Perry and the others watched, McCartney effortlessly revived his 46-year-old tune. "He knew all the chords, the lyrics, everything," Perry says. "He didn't have any cheat sheets. It was like he'd been playing it his whole life. Me and Alice and Johnny were standing there and looking at each other and I tell you ? if there's any ego-lever in a room, it's Paul. It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. If Paul's in the room, he's there. It was hard to focus on playing." Cooper and McCartney wound up sharing the lead vocals on the song, Perry says." http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/paul-mccartney-johnny-depp-supergroup-hollywood-vampires-20150305

All three of them have some kind of McCartney connection: Depp, as we know from many Paul videos and the blues jam and the cigar-box guitar Cooper, who covered "Eleanor Rigby" and "Smile Away" for the "Art of McCartney" project Perry, whose band Aerosmith did a hit cover of "Come Together" in 1978 (John's song, I know, but close; it's the Beatles, shut up!)

Love the song and Mr. McCartney has done very well writing songs for other people. I loved the song "On The Wings Of A Nightengale" which was just perfect for the Everly Brothers in 1984.

            Maybe I'm amazed !!

Didn't Perry also sing at the Kennedy Center honor event for McCartney? Or am I mistaken?

______________________________________________________ Couldn't agree more. On the Wings of a Nightingale is one of my favorite unreleased songs from Macca. He has so many unreleased songs that need to be on a compilation CD. I would love for Paul to do another Unplugged Concert with his current Band. Loads of really good Macca songs they could do and Wings of a Nightingale would be at the top of my list. He could do 15-20 songs and not one from his current Out There tour. That would be my ultimate wish. Just think of the Solo songs he has never done live that could be in the Setlist...Little Willow, Somedays, I'm Carrying etc. For the Beatle crowd, he could do Rocky Raccoon and Martha My Dear but mostly Post Beatle songs. He could do about 7 shows from different locations and choose the best takes for what would be a fabulous CD. Come on Mr. McCartney...just think of the number of great songs that the masses don't even know. Your Solo career is much better than I think you realize.

Alice Cooper cover "Eleanor Rigby" on The Art of McCartney. I'm not sure I've ever 'got it' with his music, some songs is okay but I don't have many records in my collection. Johnny Depp is a pretty good actor, for some reason featured in several McCartney videos lately. I remember there was a Beatles tribute concert on TV last year, with both Paul and Ringo in the audience and on stage, my brother commented that whenever he see Paul McCartney nowadays, he is surrounded by celebrities, rarely 'regular people' anymore.
