Well let's say it didn't get a huge reaction, certainly not to the extent where he should keep destroying his voice on it! @mike carrera - good question, I was just wondering about the program, realizing I didn't see one, will take a better look on Thursday. @BOYCIE - not sure it's a pricing issue, in Marseille, the PELOR was a very reasonable ?74 for instance. But yes it doesn't like his team has managed to make him "rare"/"hip" enough, odd since there aren't that many Beatles around, eh! BTW there is a very good recording avalaible on Dimeadozen!
I guess we have to face the fact that he's not a very popular act in Europe any more? The US, Japan and South America are the only territories where he's a guaranteed seller it seems.

I think it is general consensus that Mr. McCartney is "always" on tour so it is not that big a deal anymore. Notice in the US, he is playing in cities he has never played before or it has been quite some time since he played there so there is more "demand" to see him.
-
Not sure about that, he'd never played in Marseille and hadn't played stadiums in France since 2003 and only a handful of shows since. I haven't really kept track but it seemed like the current Euro tour sold rather well apart from the stadiums in France ?

I'd love to sell over 40,000 tickets and be considered "not very popular."

PS - not sure if there was some kind of "issue" but playing a useless 30 minute collage at 21.05, 1+ hour after showtime, really tested the audience's patience! It was a whistling fest... Surely Paul must have heard them and will get the whiz who slapped that together to edit it down to say 10 minutes or even better, 5!
Thanks for your review! Not sure why the show started late for you, but the 30 minute film has been shown at all of Paul's shows for the past several years. They edit it slightly every year but it hasn't changed much since at least 2011. So I don't think it is going to be edited or made shorter for future shows.

From what I have read here, not really. I think they had a tough time selling the second show in Amsterdam.
-
Ok, well the second show was added after the first one sold out so maybe they overplayed their hand on that one. @thenightfish - the movie is not a bad idea (I seem to remember Dick Lester did one in 1989 too) but it was a LOT shorter in 2011, I'd say 10/15 minutes max. Anyway for Paris I'll know what to expect.

No reviews? Here's my quick one then, it was my 6th since 1989 before the 7th (and last?) on Thursday. Had a fantastic time in the middle of PELOR in spite of the chain smokers... Michelle was fun but the real surprise of the setlist is Temporary Secretary of course, what a ballsy choice! Took me back to Xmas 81 and my first new Macca LP, well cassette, that I played to death on my tiny mono player, hehe... One song he needs to drop in a hurry is Amazed, few people seemed to know it (unlike say BOR) and it took his already croaky voice several songs to recover. I know it's for Linder but there are so many to pick from, My Love maybe, or he could also dedicate Live and Let Die to her since she wrote the middle 8. Unlike say Jagger who "paces" his voice, it almost seems like Paul wants to leave everything on the table at each show, kudos to him for that, but he's not 37 anymore...How is that going to work with back to back dates like the Ziggodome? A bit sad/odd he only managed to sell 38000 out of the 57000 capacity, especially when ACDC can sell out two Stade de France in minutes. Comes down to marketing I suppose... thanks for the review ! I'll be in Paris on thursday and i must order a taxi to come back home. Can you tell me at about what time the show is over ? thanks !

Approximate times for Marseille : 20:00 - official start time 21:04 - collage starts 21:34 - collage ends 21:35 - concert starts 00:18 - concert ends I hope they don't start so late in Paris if not it's going to be a zoo to get back to Paris using the RER that runs until 1:00. Well getting back to Paris should be ok but the problem is going to be catch another Metro/RER for those who need to.

Well after all it looks like I'll be seeing Paul again after Marseille and Paris in 2015...and this time I'm looking at treating myself to the soundcheck experience ! Out of curiosity anyone remember how much it cost in Marseille last year? In Paris I was sitting next to a guy who was at the soundcheck and he was saying that after being given early entry for the show they'd had to fight off crazed fans who wanted to go in front of them...hope it's not the same at Bercy !

Such a shame that someone at MPL (I presume) felt the need to use Paul's Twitter account and Facebook site to post "Let's go England" before tonight's Euro 2016 England v Russia football (soccer) match. It now means that Paul is inadvertently associated with the violence in Marseille surrounding this match. Such a shame as this time last year Paul was in Marseille spreading peace and love. Better stick to music and leave football alone.
