'Wings over America' - Let us hear your memories!

"Memories...pressed between the pages of my mind" Saw Paul & Wings live in Atlanta in '76 at the wonderful age of 21! An experience I will cherish forever!

When I got the album for Christmas 1977, it was already a year old, and it seemed like ancient history to me as a 13-year-old (which seems hilarious now), but I got to know this album better than any other live album ever. The Beatles tracks and "Jet" and "Hi Hi Hi" and "Soily" were always thrilling to me. I wouldn't actually see him in concert till 1990, and it's amazing that even that is 25 years ago now!

I remember ordering it from Virgin records in Oldham street in Manchester and they had a copy in the store in the store the week before its release. I think it was am import. The guy in the store knew me as I was always in buying records. He let me play all six sides in one session they normally allowed just two tracks from any album to be played on the turn tables. My mouth dropped from the opening crowd roar and the fist bars of Venus and Mars it was a great experience. I then remember the joy of getting the album and proudly opening each disc on the bus reading every detail as I traveled home. I don't think my parents saw much of me thst weekend. I have a feeling but I don't know why it cost a whopping £6.80 but for three records it was worth it. I think it was a few weeks before Christmas it came out tour tickets were around £1 £3 and average album prices about £1.20 I reckon
