      I find it odd the both albums contain solo tracks and not just Wings songs

          If he could have got away with it, Paul would have probably shoved a few Beatles tracks on them as well?

            I thought so too when it came out. I think it was ok with songs from the McCartney albums, as a frame for the Wings history. as shown in "Wingspan".

                I agree with the OP more so in regards to post wings, not so much pre wings...McCartney and Ram were 'seedlings' to Wings....obviously post 1979 (or more accurately, announced 1981), Wings were in Paul's rearview mirror...The only argument I could see for Tug of War and Pipes of Piece was that Denny did appear on those albums...and as far as I'm concerned, Broadstreet was a project that was largely based on music from those two albums...but still, they don't feel very 'Wings'
