Eppy (Brian Epstein) was especially mad about Cilla, from all I've read. The Fabs always looked happy to be around her. Eppy refused to manage Marianne Faithfull because he wanted Cilla to be the only girl singer on his client list.

I think it was down to a Jonathan Ross interview. Ross asked Ringo if there was anything he missed about Liverpool and Ringo said "no". Since he was raised in the slums it's hardly surprising, but a lot of Scousers didn't like it.

All The Beatles wanted to leave Liverpool, not just Ringo. Paul said just growing up there made you hungry to go someplace else.

Liverpool cracked the irrits when they moved to London in '63! There's still heaps of locals can't stand 'em. But that's largely due to the fact that every day they're subjected to Beatles this and Beatles that. Can't blame them. Obviously the city welcomes the revenue the band generates. It's only the visitors who imagine EVERYBODY in Liverpool lives and breathes The Beatles.
