I really really liked Pipes of Peace; a very under rated album. A couple clunkers, but come on people, POP is a brilliant song; Say Say Say was huge in late 1983; So Bad is a McCartney masterpiece; Average Person reminded me of a mid-60's Beatle song; The Other Me was simply a great song with Paul in great voice; and I just love Sweetest Little Show.

It's a little bit exciting if the reissues will get someone to revaluate "Pipes of Peace". I doubt that it will be me, as long as they don't ruin the album. It happened to some extent with "McCartney II" for example which suddenly became a hipster album.

There is NOTHING hipster about Tug Of War or Pipes Of Peace, though.

No, I'm not so hipster, but I think I see what you mean. In this era. "McCartney II" is 'homemade electronica', almost computer music. Tug/Pipes is more like adult contemporary.

Interesting topic, how about that alleged Medley starting with Sweetest Little Show : "Sweetest Little Show/Any Younger/Unbelievable Experience" ? Not holding my breath for very exciting stuff as there's really been none of it since the Deluxe projects started unfortunately...well there was that "4th of July" demo I suppose but the song in itself was a letdown so. As for the TOW/POP debate, the big difference is that TOW got a huge push (from EMI ?), there were ads everywhere, interviews, etc...while POP just appeared out of nowhere with very little publicity. It was odd since TOW had done well, maybe not to expectations though? I don't remember a single interview when it came out? Was it just released as an afterthought with Paul already focusing all his energies on Broadstreet, which in hindsight...
