Soundcheck Only Tickets/Admission
-
In addition to buying a ticket for a concert, if a person wants to see one of Paul's soundchecks, without having a VIP pass, is there a way to just buy a ticket or pay admission to the soundcheck itself? Granted it might be $$$$ but was just wondering. Does each venue have it's own policy about that? Or is it the band's policy that the soundcheck is strictly for people who have paid for a VIP package and their invited guests?

I've never seen them sold separately. It is always a pkg deal. The price includes your regular show ticket & you also get to go to the soundcheck. .. it also includes other perks.

Ok, thanks
I've seen when people post lists of shows they've gone to, that sometimes they've had "Soundcheck only" written after a show's name, so was just wondering.

Really? Maybe ask that person that has it listed that way. They could have sold their regular seat I guess because I don't think soundcheck tickets are transferable.

I think I saw on the Slotix site there was an option to upgrade to do soundcheck if you already had a ticket . . .for Japan only. I've never heard of that option in the U.S. but I'm pretty much a rookie at doing VIP pkgs

Yeah, oobu24 is correct.

I have done it a few times in South America. Bought just a ticket first, and a few weeks later the "upgrade" package was offered. It included everything the Hot Sound package did, except the ticket. After the soundcheck ended, fans returned to their reserved seats in different areas of the stadium. That "upgrade" package is not always offered, you never know whether it will be available until you see it on the SloTix website. I found mine out by checking the website regularly, nobody gave me advance warning about it.

Thanks everyone for your replies
Sounds like venues outside the USA (Japan and Brazil) may have a better chance of getting a Soundcheck "upgrade" with the purchase of a ticket. Maybe in the future fans in the US will be able to get this opportunity as well.

At one of the US Out There concerts, a group of students studying music in university were invited to the soundcheck. They were given free entrance to the soundcheck itself but had to leave when the regular concert was starting (unless they paid for a ticket). Lucky, right?

That actually happened in Lincoln in 2014 too. No offense, but the kids were pretty clueless . . .mandatory class assignment??

This happened at the Minneapolis soundcheck last year, too. Some U of M students were there. Seemed to me like they enjoyed it.

You're welcome, but actually it did not happen in Brazil. The upgrade package was only offered in South American countries that had numbered seats on the field. Over here it's airways general admission, so after the soundcheck is over you just stay on your spot and wait until the gates are opened so that people without soundcheck packages can enter the stadium and fill up the field.

The student group in Lincoln were high-schoolers I think. They were situated behind us. I kept screaming "Every Night" I love that song and it had been taken out of the actual show setlist. After I screamed it about 10 times, I heard one of the students say (and I'm paraphrasing) "Jeez . . .every night what?" I hope they figured it out when my screaming was rewarded by Paul doing "Every Night" in soundcheck!
