The New Album...

look forward to the new Cd never downloaded a thing i have to confess

In the Sun today, they have a piece on what new music is coming for 2013. Paul of course is featured " Macca's been working with celebrated producer Ethan Johns and collaborating with Mark Ronson and Paul Epworth. Expect in May".
-
Is Macca's new stuff even promoted that much lately? I'm an Aussie obviously and from my experience you may hear a song from a new album played once of twice upon release on AM radio if you are in the country and the city may pick up an album promo spot and not alot more, not sure if this is true in other non UK or US countries. My question is can Paul's new album reach #1? He has been close a few times of late but can it happen this time around? Chart placings dont matter to me but if Dylan and Springsteen can get #1's then so should Paul be able to

Dear all, in my opinion it has been clear that Paul has not announced the release date to keep the entire concentration on kisses complete... Do you think that a release Date in Q 1 is still realistic? How Long in advance Chaos or Memory have been announced? Press notes with Epworth And ronson in Q3+4 could be a sign that they are still in the middle of the work And maybe Q3or4 could Even be realistic - horrible Long
Late March is still possible, but if we don't start hearing something shortly after Jan. 1 I'd bet on a bit later.
Bruce M, You're probably right on that one. I'm guessing later on in 2013. As long as it's a good one I don't mind the wait.
I like summer releases. Summer of '07 is a happy memory for me -- and whenever I play Memory Almost Full, I am instantly in a warm and fuzzy place.
I remember being totally shocked when Memory was announced. It was only two years after Chaos, then 16 or 17 months for Electric Arguments. Three albums in such a short time was a gift considering all the years between albums in the 90s through Driving Rain.

Agreed 100%. If KOTB can reach #1 (on the highly prestigious Billboard Jazz charts, mind you
: :lol
than anything can.
Since MAF reached #3 (only behind Rihanna and T-Pain's new releases), I have high expectations for this new album (I like the term "album" as well, Kapoo
).

Summer would be fine. Again, I think Paul should do a 1 2 punch. Release one new album in 2013 and one new one in 2014 as well. If he has enough for a double album, why not? And yes, I still use album as a term.
"Album" is still appropriate -- as CDs, downloads, LPs, etc. are merely formats in which albums are available.
Thanks audi. I'd begun to think I didn't get a memo of some sort. You know, with the kids these days and their 8 track tapes and disco records.

Actually found some old albums and 8 tracks in garage last week when trying to clean it up and get some more space. I got to admit I miss the old days of getting a album and checking out the cover and pictures inside.

I still do that...

Dear all, Could it be /or Might it be a Good Idea if/that Paul brings a triple Album Out? Paul complete
Rock, Pop, fireman like ....showing everyboy what huge Talent he still has... Nice Idea imo ...what do you think?
That would be cool, kind of like what "Green Day" did recently.
That would be so cool... am looking forward to more Fireman material, but I know there are those who NEED to hear some new pop/rock material... both at once would be an answer to everyone's prayers

Dear all, first the new rock album has been announced (dec 2011) for 2012, then late 2012, Q1 2013....it's just so ridiculous... mpl should clearly say whats going on. Either rescheduled, don't expect before xy, or comes out in summer or whatever (!!!)... but this is absolutely not fan orientated.... Please do not misunderstand me I am a huge fan as everybody at this forum, 25 concerts since 89, etc etc.... like everybody I "love" Paul but his team or at least the /his media philosophy, means how he treats his fans is bullshit... the same is the schedule for the remasters.... horrible... no clear communication, no dates, no structure.... 3rd class marketing reg Steffen

Que Sera, Sera

Que Sera, Sera

And maybe Paul will do a cover of Que Sera Sera. A la Doris Day?

Bowie fans waited for 10 years with no communication, no dates, no structure, no marketing, no touring, no interviews, no appearances, no announcements of any kind --there was absolutely nothing. And when Bowie just announced his new album, rather than complain about that decade-long lack of information or about what David should/shouldn't do for his fans, his fans are just massively excited to get the music. And that's all he seems to feel he owes them: the music. He's not giving any interviews and he isn't going to tour the album. That's given me a bit of perspective, I think. Paul hasn't released an album of all originals since 2008. I am just massively excited to get the music. I don't think he owes me any advance warning. He can release it when it's ready. I'll be waiting whenever it comes out.

The latest news/rumor is May of this year.

Last i heard was that Paul was in a studio in new York in December doing some bits and pieces and the mastering has begun in the UK. so if they are mastering its got to be near:-):-)

sure seems like an very long time for an album to be made...but I guess that is what it takes.

What "remaster rip off"? Sorry but I'm not sure what you're referring to. I chose of my own free will to buy the remasters and I don't feel ripped off at all. On the contrary, I knew exactly what I was getting ahead of time and I continue to enjoy all of them. No regrets. Would I have loved each one to include more? Of course. We always want more. And I think the Bowie comparison IS apt. His fans got no information, no concerts, no albums, no interviews for 10 long years, and aren't ranting at Bowie about that: They are just thrilled to be getting a new album. By comparison, Paul fans have gotten plenty of information, concerts, albums, & interviews over the last 10 years but it's never enough, is it? Perhaps we just expect too much, and the more we get, the more we expect. So this is my new Zen attitude: I'll be happy to see a new album and I hope it comes out this year.
