      B J Conlee:

I still think the album version is the most pure, true version. It's faster and has more of an edge. I love the way the instrument s work together and the song fade out is still one of the best in rock history. To think that Paul is the only player on this version is still extraordinary. This is not to say that the Wings over America version is not good. It's just that the album version to me is the one I want to hear.

I love Appreciate and think it should have been released as a single. I bet if it was released by anyone else, it could have been a hit. As soon as the younger crowd sees "Paul McCartney" on it, they discount it.

And why is that? Because they just know he was a Beatle & that is all they expect from him? That's precisely why he should do more solo numbers in concert & get them used to the NEW & improved (IMHO) Paul. (new & improved with age...like a fine wine)

Just point them in the direction of the new The Art of McCartney project/album/CD coming out in November. It not only has killer tracks of his entire career, it also emphasizes his stature in the music world. The list of performers on the album is mind-blowing. Would give a good starter lesson, or refresher course, to anybody who wants to know who Sir Paul McCartney is.

Take away all The Beatles' songs out of his current setlist and he's still doing an hour long concert.

It IS a great start & a great line up of artists (where is Grohl, Costello, Neil Young) but...it is most definitely not representative of entire career. There are only a couple songs from after 1980.
