I was having a discussion about this wonderful song earlier... Does anyone else consider this a festive/holiday song, does anyone else think it could have been a big Christmas hit and does anyone else agree that it would fit on a compilation of seasonal songs?

Love it & the video is so cool. I don't understand why he doesn't do a few different songs off of this album.

What is your interpretation of what is happening in the video?

I just enjoy the video. I don't know what his message is...do you? But I'd love to see him filming in an amusement park that I would happen to be at. He just looks very relaxed & that is what I like to see. Winters coming It'll soon will be here If we knew what it meant We would take care Snow is falling Where the snow falls If we knew what it meant We would take care We would dance Light up the sky With your message fly With your message Bells will ring out for our love We can do it Gonna do it tonight Sing till we fly together Dance till we're high together Dance till we're high together Write a letter to a new love Drop a line to a true love Winters coming It'll soon be here If we knew what it meant We would take care Shake our heads We would be there We would dance Light up the sky With your message fly With your message Bells will ring out for our love We can do it Gonna do it tonight Sing till we fly together Dance till we're high together Gonna do it right now Light up the sky With your message fly With your message Bells will ring out for our love We can do it Gonna do it tonight Sing till we fly together Dance till we're high together Dance till we're high together Light up the sky Sing till we fly together Dance till we're high together Gonna do it right now

I think it's a Christmas scene, filmed in Leicester Square at Christmas, designed to portray the festive message in the song. Others would disagree though!

"Others" meaning me. Since the song has the word "winter" in it, it makes sense to film a winter scene for the video. That's where it ends, though. Nothing Christmasy about this song.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Everytime I hear this song it reminds me of Christmas. The bells, positive and uplifting lyrics. I just love it, I love the whole album, really.....but yes.....it's a holiday song for sure.

I've been going on about this song since EA came out. I badgered BBC Radio 2 so much they sent me solicitors letters.... This is arguably the most commercial song he's done since the great flood. I cannot belive that he missed the opportunity to plug the bejeezus out of it the Christmas after EA was released! : ......major cock up at Macca HQ! Could have been a big hit. It's not even included on the recent editions of the 'Now That's What I Call Christmas' double CD..... : It's certainly one of my favourite songs and if it was given the White Christmas treament with the right musicians and arrangement on this alleged 'Holidays Rule' CD ( : ) then it could really work, especially if he dumps the cheap 'filmed within 50 yards of MPL's front door with a camcorder' type vid and gave us a lush B&W 1940's looking, winter holidays/snowfest promo film. Not gonna hold my breath for inclusion on the new CD though. Certainly one of my faves of his solo catalogue.

Another one who agrees with my Christmas thoughts then! I've also sent Radio 2 A LOT of emails about this song! Every DJ, every day in December last year!

Dance Till We're High is my 14-year-old daughter's favorite track off Electric Arguments. She's a ballet dancer and thinks it would make a great piece of music to choreograph for ballet. Great song.

They just ignore me now..... ......so many people do, I'm an acquired taste! If my increasingly foggy memory serves me right he did tentatively release the bugger into the wild and it made the Radio 2 C and B playlists for a month. They chose to stick it on in the middle of the night or just ignore it completely. They still owe the track about 20 plays!
