Excellent! i don't own this album yet so this will all be mostly new to me. looking forward to it. I just hope this also brings us news of the other remasters we are waiting upon. Also, I wish they could sell the DVD with the Special editions like they did with the Band on the Run remaster.

I can't understand people getting so excited about this - it is very disappointing and the DVD footage is pitifully small. Great album, but not enough new stuff to temp me

As for me, the Ram deluxe set has what I was hoping it would have -- not everything, but close enough! I'm not all that obsessive about demos because, frankly, I don't find I listen to them more than a few times. Besides, I think he's saving up the demos for a box set of demos and B sides, which could be very cool. But I will listen to the main CD, the mono version and the Thrillington version countless times. So yes, I'm VERY psyched.

              Adrian A:

Are some of the tracks actually noticeably different on the mono album or is it just a case of them being mono instead of being stereo?

I've never heard it myself, but I heard that some tracks have longer endings. Long Haired Lady and Monkberry Moon Delight have the most noticeable differences.

I am hoping that the Eat at Home On Tour is more of a documentary piece, showing a few live cuts.

Just wondering here if you have had all of these albums before...like Thrillington?

Do you mean me? The answer is no. I don't have Thrillington or the mono version of Ram -- both of which were among the things I wanted in the deluxe version (besides the remastered music and the book itself). I think I would have preferred more extra tracks rather than more DVD footage, although more of everything is always good!

I'm sorry yes, I meant you Michelley. Thrillington was one of the 1st things I sought out when I began collecting Paul stuff. A friend thought that was very odd. Also very cool are the "now hear this" spots.

Regarding the rare unissued recordings, from what I understand with this whole archive series is that priority has been given to the previously bootlegged tracks. It seems that MPL want them out officially in best sound quality. But all the other material which has never been bootlegged is to be held back for an 'anthology' styled project further down the line. Thats all very well but for those keen collectors amongst us who have had the bootlegs (which tend to be in excellent sound quality anyway) for a number of years, it makes this archive series rather dull and uninteresting.

They are probably buying them from the bootleggers!

Well of course it's a money making exercise. Even if it had everything on it that everyone wanted it would still be a money making exercise. I'm sorry, I do understand the disappointment among serious collectors, but I just can't get mopey about this one. It's Ram!!! It hasn't been remastered since 1993 -- gees, almost 20 years ago. It's a classic record that deserves renewed attention and I'm betting it will sound terrific. I really can't wait to have the mono mix on CD and the Percy Thrillington CD. I'll buy the "anthology" set of demos when and if that ever comes out, too. But this is like any reissue, if you're happy with what you already have then I guess it's one less thing for you to buy. Save your money for Paul tickets!

Not listening to Ram again until May 21st. Want to really appreciate this one. I'm looking forward to the Book aswell.

                                Sir Paul McCartney....Thank You!!

Me too! It's been something like 18 months since I listened to the album. I almost weakened driving home today. I started rationalizing that I should actually listen to my old CD so that I was "prepared" to compare the sound. I'm being an absolute nerd about this. : : But I bravely fought back the urge and will be Ram-free until May 22.
