No oobu, these pictures are like a gold mine to us collectors.
Gold mine is right. I've seen some of the new Ram pictures on Tumblr and they are stunning, including many that I, for one, had never seen before. I'm even sorry I looked at them actually because I feel like I spoiled the surprise a bit for myself with my own impatience.
But hopefully there will be some other great photos in the book that I didn't see on Tumblr.. -

Yes. Someone with a Tumblr site received the deluxe reissue early and has been posting about 12 or more photos from the book on Tumblr. There were some great photos I'd never seen before both of Paul and family in Scotland during this period and in the studio in New York.

Just saw that Paul is going to be on the cover of the U.S. edition of Uncut Magazine (June issue). It's probably the same content as in the UK version. I think Plastic Soul Man said the content focused too much on Beatles history. Still it's great that Ram is on the cover, at least in the US. And the headline on the cover says: "Paul McCartney: Turmoil, Uncertainty & a Rediscovered Classic." Besides an interview with Paul, it includes interviews with Denny Seiwell and with Dave Spinozza.

You know, you just have to laugh at some of these reviewers. This one does what they all seem to do: (1) Knock Paul for writing the Frog Chorus and Obladi Oblada and for the peace-sign goofy persona then (2) Praise Paul for all the quiet underground art he supported in the 60's and then (3) under-rate and misunderstand his solo albums. That review was such a cliche, I couldn't take it seriously.

I was chatting to someone on a non Paul site a few days back, the convo got round to Macca, she said she was a Beatles fan & thought Wings were great in the early 70's until they became corny later in the decade, I asked what she meant, she mentioned the frog chorus, me being me told her if "We all stand Together" had been a Beatles song people would have been raving about it much the same way as they do with Yellow Submarine, she replied with "you know what i mean" I asked her to tell me in what context did McCartney become corny as he hasn't changed his musical style much since the 60's, needless to say the convo died a death as she didn't have a clue, it didn't help matters when i told her she was talking through the hole in her arse
ps. I did mention "We all stand Together" wasn't a Wings or 70's song, needless to say i won't be getting a crimbo card from her -

On the bright side, I saw a Tweet yesterday from Questlove -- front man for The Roots, drummer, music writer, record producer , and one of the coolest guys on the planet -- who tweeted how excited he was that Ram was being reissued and called it his favorite Macca LP. He's got like 2,000,000 followers on Twitter -- so that idiotic Drowned in Sound reviewer can just kiss my bottom.

Well, all this excitement has caused me to cancel my order for the two disc version of Ram,toss austerity out the window and put in a new one for the deluxe version. You guys on this thread are the best marketing reps Paul has! But hey, I am in my late 50s, have been a Macca fan since his first solo album and need something to get excited about as I doubt he will tour the US this year. Ram,bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!

Now MPL (And Paul?) seems to have started doing all kinds of strange and fun things around the internet to promote RAM and that's great. Strange tweets, Thrillington's twitter, http://www.whoispercythrillington.com/ , Ewetube http://www.paulmccartney.com/ewetube/ , Rude Studio Monkberry Moon Delight... I only wished that Paul would have done the best promotion there is, to play several tracks of it live and maybe on TV shows. Anyway, bring on the day when the box arrives with the mail!
