I have ordered this "Time" book plus RAM on vinyl (stereo and mono) and CD (the deluxe box). It's a birthday gift to myself. By the way, my birthday is June 18, same as Paul. He should send me a birthday present!

It arrived, but I haven't opened it yet. Was too busy with Ram, which I had to return as box had a bent corner.

It's a very nice book but as usual there is too much Beatle stuff & not enough devoted to solo Paul. Out of just over 100 pages 80 (or so) are Beatles stuff. :

That's really disappointing. I had hoped for something far more balanced and that would explore the solo years in more depth than that.

Tempted to cancel my pre-order now. Although the book is probably as balanced as his setlist :

True. But don't cancel...it's still a nice book for the money. It was only $11.50 here from Amazon.

Is the cover the one shown on Amazon? I read something about Time running an online vote of which cover would actually be used...everything from early Beatle Paul to the one shown for pre-ordering among the "candidates". I never put in an order but just might not buy it after all as the Ram Deluxe was costly but worth it.

Yeah, same cover as shown on Amazon. It's a hardcover book & is only 112 pages. Nice quality though. I remember the diff pics...I think we had them all posted here...somewhere. Prolly just something to get everyone interested.

Thanks for the info. Sounds good.

It was only £8 or something so will definitely let it head my way. Just a pity that it doesn't reflect his career properly. 10 years as a beatle. over 40 years as a solo artist.

                        Sir Paul McCartney....Thank You!!

I'll reserve judgment at the minute until I see it but I'm not impressed with the lack of solo/wings credit. I have no idea on the photos tbh. Maybe.

I wonder if a softbound, cheaper version of this will come out for sales in grocery store magazine racks. Last month, I saw a Time-Life hardbound book on the Titanic for the 100th anniversary of the sinking in the local bookstore and then saw the very same item being sold in softbound for a greatly reduced price at the grocery store.

The Beatles, Lennon and Harrison all had these TIME books. It was about time Paul got his. Now... what about Ringo?

Do you think the members on here will get something to commemorate Paul's 70th birthday?

nope. why should we? To be honest. I do wonder if the website for a day might have a special pic up like they do on George's site.

what? Some fandoms actually give stuff for the b-day to the paying members? Hmmmm....maybe MPL should copy that. We all could use more Paul stuff.
