Somewhere aroun 1999 to 2001 -- alas, that's as precise as my memory gets -- I remember reading an interview with Paul in which he mentioned he'd written a number of new songs, and mentioned that several of them were pretty sad. Around that time I remember also reading of a specific track called, I think, "You are Here," which seemed to be specifically about Linda. I've never seen such a track, even in bootleg form, and only a couple of released songs from that era strike me as sad -- "Magic," being the most obvious example. So does this mean there's a small pile of unreleased tracks from this period? Does anyone know anything about them? I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining this.

I also remember hearing this at the time, over the year's scince Driving Rain came out, ( which is nearly 11 years now ! ) a few tracks have been mentioned ie. You're Still Here, Washington, Always Be There. I'm sure there are more, as he usually records 20 + songs & he did do the Driving Rain sessions over two periods, February & June.

Perhaps it's time for The Complete Driving Rain? Maybe we'll get something like that if/when there's ever a reissue of that album. Maybe my old friend Joshy has some insight into this...

I'd love to hear these songs, as I like Driving Rain quite a bit...any known bootlegs?

            My lyric video for "New":

Maybe he was part of the game John and Harry had, to each write a song called 'You Are Here'. John's appeared on MindGames obviously, and is a tremendous song. Harry's was shelved but is available by way of bootleg, or on my iPod would be cool if Paul had one too! 1, 2. I know nothing about Driving Rain outtakes but would be interested to hear any floating about. Where's Macsback when you need him, that guy could come up with rare links like no other!

its like trying to catch the sun on the water..
