I love "New" and it has some great moments, infact I don't see weak tracks in it. what made Paul albums (with or post the Beatles) what they are is that Paul makes music that stands strongly after years, decades and thousand years I'm sure. I always go back and listen to a whole albums like "Flaming Pie" , "Tug Of War", "Flowers In The Dirt", "BOTR", "Ram", "Chaos" and "McCartney1&2" and his other solo albums , in a special mode, just listening without doing anything else just focusing on the songs and enjoying the musical details. Honestly, do you think "New" has it? will it stand for itself for many years from now? Share your thoughts please .

I'll let you know in a few years from now.... but I wasn't disappointed in the album. I think it is great. A big fan of the album. Close to his best since Tug of War. A couple of weak tracks, nevertheless, although one of them is at least not listed so maybe that doesn't count. I don't imagine any of the songs ageing poorly as the years roll by, though.

Definitively Yes, I think it is a classic album.

Yes, I think it will stand up. Its diversity is its strength, and while it pulls from innovative music of today in places, I don't think it's overused, with the possible exception of "Looking At Her" in a couple of places.

I think it's his latest Flaming Pie. I liked MAF, and Electric Arguments is as brilliant as it gets, but NEW seems poised to have more lasting name-value.
