Live 8 wristbands
-
There were over 400 charities involved....the biggest ones were Oxfam, Christian Aid and Cafod. Christian Aid and Cafod are still buying from the factory in question, with the promise that conditions will get better. Another good hypocritcal wristband is ?Not In Our Name? wristbands meant to protest a war over oil dependency that are made from oil-derived petrochemicals. Unbelievable....

Oh. On the news over here, we were only told of 2 charities; Oxfam and it was aso Cafod.

http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/whiteband/index.shtml They are the Make Poverty History bands. I think the sillicon version might be quite difficult to get outside the UK, unfortunately. Incidentally, I`m very impressed to see a Live 8 forum - good work!
I tried that website and found I'd have to move to the U.K. As much as I'd love to do that, it isn't practical. I'm in Canada, and was lucky enough to have a friend who works at HMV who was GIVEN a white band. She in turn gave it to me as she knew it meant more to me than her. However... it's so large, I risk loosing it in this swealtering heat. So, it's now hanging in my van.

Lucky you, Sandy. I'd love to have one, but I won't buy one off eBay and won't pay shipping from the UK.

I got mine through "act!ionaid", www/actionaid.org.uk Love it, have gotten lots of questions about it, which helps to spread the word. I live in the states, the receipt I printed when I got it said I lived in the UK..ha ha, but it still got here in a less than a week!

Well... Today I've received this in my mailbox.... (click to see it bigger) I bought it through http://www.concern.net, one of the pages listed on Make Poverty History webpage. You don't have to pay for the shipping (at least I don't see it yet on my credit card!!! )... I thought that I wouldn't receive anything, but at least I contributed with something... It was a surprised to receive this today!!!

I caught that too... nice video, and I LOVE seeing him play Drums. Sure wish he'd do that in concert here.

it was good to see the bracelet in the video, it seemed like it was shown off on purpose.excellent.
-
Yes, it is certainly meant to be seen. Clearly Paul is one Live 8 artist who has not forgotten about it.

Paul's website gives a list of where to buy them. http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/whiteband/
