xxlovemccartneyxx...you are so right....very catchyand happy ! I'm trying to get a few good recipies down on paper to submit....Mexi enchiladas....Yummy green chili burritos and the family fav baked beans and a few others. I've been waiting to hear about the contest? Do you have to write a tune, or use the tune that Paul used for this...I wonder? There are alot of people signed up already on FB. This is such a great idea...everyone can give up meat for one day. Saw a vid, maybe on FB of a cow....reminded me of Linda...cute! COW is my favorite Linda song too!!!

Thanks for the link! That's very good of him, well done, Paul! A peppy, feel good about what you're doing song! Though I was already doing this, Mon is my day for fresh herb pesto. Some basil if I have it in a pot, garden herbs lovage, thyme, dill sometimes, wild herbs such as stawberry leaves (for vitamin C, not much flavour), sorrel/sweet colver, pink clover, viloas, day lily buds, chives...whatever is in season, blended with olive oil, pine nuts, walnuts, salt, pepper, garlic. That's 2c herbs, the garlic, nuts, enough oil to blend to desired consistency. Enjoy on pasta!

It's a good and catchy song, but it's only made up of a few simple chords on a acoustic guitar. I'm not saying it's bad, far from it, I love it.

Doesn't it look like Paul just did that bit impromptu? Just looking on the faces of the friends there, they look a bit suprised to be on camera. It was really nice to see Stellas video bits at the meat free Monday event What's going on with the contest, anyway?

I see this older thread has popped up but doesn't carry the latest news of this song. Paul took the impromptu song. seen on the intro page to the MFM campaign. home with him and fleshed out the lyric and recorded it properly. That song is now available to download here: http://supportmfm.org/donate/ Whilst donations are invited, the song is offered with a free download option as well - I suspect because Paul and the MFM team realise the message is more important over and above the collection of donations. I'm sorry, but this is rubbish! I turned up at Tesco today looking for free meat; I was met with blank stares. It all seemed to be selling at the usual prices as far as I could see. There was some hippy chick nearby who also misunderstood the cause; she was trying to liberate a packet of pork chops. I can't see this new pledge going anywhere; Paul just seems to be looking to cause trouble with iniatives like this.

If you look at the website, even a quick glance, it should become quite clear what the scoop is. I don't know how else people hear of it? If someone just heard the name of the campaign I'd think they'd do a quick google to see what it's about? I think the title works for most, usually the word free would come first if it was a give-away, and the free after means it's free of the word before. ie "Free doughnuts," vs "Peanut free doughnuts." technically it would be better to use a hyphen in the latter, so if they wrote it "Meat-free Mondays" it should be totally clear.

I think Inspector Sands was having a little joke there, Wendy.

Oh, you could be right! I don't understand how he thinks MFM could cause problems. Since I was already doing a meat free Mon most weeks, I've added Fri simply by using vegetarian pepperoni on my home-made pizzas. Often another day or so end up veggie, with tofu, eggs, or mac& cheese, baked beans. Really, it's so easy and yummy to do.

You say that Wen', you should come along to Tesco in West Norwood right now. It's carnage. You've got the the area cordoned off, the Meat Liberation Front are on the premises, I've been told they're holding a vegetarian quiche to ransom; it's being made to read out a list of demands as we speak. Apparently the fish section is trying to stay out of it. This is what happens when pop singers like Sir Paul get involved in worthy causes... :
