Mod Post This archived thread contains posts between 2003 and 2012 about Paul's Guitarist Brian Ray These posts were archived due to the size of the thread and a continuation topic created to permit continued discussion here: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2216 We apologise for the brief inconvenience this will bring but are assured that Brian's Fans will soon repopulate the continuation thread. Regards Martin No, sorry. The only idea I can come up wih is to email Beatlefan and check out old back issues of that rag. They had some interviews with members of Paul's band in the last few years.

Dreamseer, you're right...you're not Brian's only fan!!! He became my favorite band member after reading his words on the CD and watching him live during several Back to the World concerts. He really rocks!! Have you seen this link? http//www.macca-central.com/macca-concerts/2002/bandinfo.cfm This information was also in the tour programs. If you find anything else, keep me posted!!!

He's probably the least interesting of Paul's band members. Looks a lil bit like a Hillbilly. Played very well though, so we can forgive his goofish appearance. And no, I don't have any links, sorry!

I adore Brian. There was a lengthy post on the old board about Brian with some nice stories and links but I can't remember what they were. He was just lovely on stage - very unassuming. I suggested that www.pm put some info on the band members up for us to read but they didn't. Does anyone know what the band members are up to? I know Rusty has an album coming out soon but I know nothing of the others (apart from the rumours of a group album in the autumn). Having been thoroughly entertained by them on several occasions I would like to offer them some support in any of their future ventures. Well done Dreamseer for mentioning our fab guy!!

Oi, Thurm! I've just read your comment about our Brian's appearance! You cheeky little so and so. A trip to the optician's is in order, I think. What do you reckon, Dreanseer?

                Dreamseer:

I'm kinda new to this posting thing, so please bear with me if this is an old subject for the rest of you. I've been searching the web for information on Brian Ray and it seems to be almost non-existent. There's plenty of info on Rusty out there, but almost nothing on Brian. I'm positive that I am not his only fan. Does anyone out there know any personal or professional facts about Brian?

The only thing I can suggest is that in the Back in the US cd booklet, there's a page of info from each band member about their experiences performing and working with Paul. It's not much, but it's a start. I don't know about the Back in the World cd.

I meet Brian Ray at backstage in the Driving Mexico tour, He talked to me on my two visits at Backstage, even he gave me his autograph, at the second Mexico show I was second row in front of him, and He recognized me and waved or pointed me in front of all the people, so for me he was the nicest person of the band (... along with Rusty) I talked to him MORE time that the one I spent with Paul. So for me Brian is not only a great player, but also a nice, a very nice person. Thanks Brian!

I think he is very handsome and a super musician. Paul has such a great band, I hope he keeps them- they are the best guys that he has ever played with- since The Beatles I mean. Yes- Brian Ray is fantastic!

Thanks for the link, OH Darling. It's the same information that's in the program from the Back in the US tour. If you come up with anything else, please let me know. There HAVE to be more facts somewhere out there. And, beatlesrock, you're absolutely right! Thurm must need glasses. From the 14th row, Brian looked great! If anyone comes up with anything else, please keep me posted.

He's a great guitarist... however being male I don't see the attraction females might get to him. Great that you like him though.

I think Brian rocks too, although me and my friends are still adamant that he looks like a blonde version of Steve Tyler! LOL 😉 Ellie

He doesn't look bad from the front row either.

OK...not fair! I thought 14th row in front of Brian and 10th row in front of Rusty was about as great as it could get. How did you end up in the front row? What show? Tell all.........

Thanks Oh Darling. What a lovely picture. By sheer fluke and blessed luck, Dreamseer, I was promoted to the front row twice - just happened to be standing by the Box Office at the right time. First time in front of Brian, second between Brian and Paul. It's lovely the way the band members acknowlege the crowd with a smile or a wink.

Great pic, OH Darling. I will add it to my screensaver-collection. And, beatlesrock, it's just not fair for one person to be THAT lucky! What shows were you at when this great stroke of good fortune happened? And, yes, you're right........it really is fun when the guys on stage acknowledge you in some way. I had that happen with both Rusty and Paul.

Personally, Abe is my favorite, but Brian is cool too. I was lucky enough to meet Abe and Brian (and saw Rusty and Wix nearby, but I was too shy to go talk to them), and both were really nice. I remember that Brian personally shook hands with everyone in the group (about 8 people or so), and actually *introduced* himself as Brian as he shook each of our hands! That really amused me. I've checked www.UBL.com a few times to see his credits, and he is on a *lot* of albums! I know that he played on one of Shakira's albums with Abe - and I think that's where they got to know each other - so you can thank Abe for getting Brian on the tour. I believe Brian has been on a few Etta James CDs as well. Abe and Brian (and Wix too, I suppose) really need websites...
