OH! Darling:
Hey all! It's taken me a few days to report back...sorry! Etta James' concert was wonderful!! Her CD's are great but to hear her live and from the heart was incredible. WOW...I am still blown away!! Some favs from the show were "I'd rather go blind" "Sugar on the floor" and "Damn your eyes" (got to get this one on CD) plus many, many more. The show was very emotional for Etta. An old friend, John Lewis, who she explained was a manager and father figure from years ago was there. She had not seen him in 40 years. He came out on stage and gave her a big hug which brought Etta and the whole place to tears. At that moment, she went into "At Last". There wasn't a dry eye in the place.
Sounds like it was a great show. I'd love to see her live sometime. Did she perform mostly old or new songs?
-
yeah, did she do anything from the new CD?
-
She played mainly her old hits. She didn't play anything from her latest CD.

Thanks. I love her old music, but I'm very curious to hear her new CD. Did she give any indication as to when it will be released?
-
Guess she's going to keep us in suspense until the new one is released. That's OK........I'll be waiting in line to buy it. Love Etta!

She's played many times in LA here the past few years...my friend wanted to go, and I would have gone with her, but tickets are expensive! Maybe I can convince my friend to go next time...

~ Hum funny how some are speaking of the legandary Etta James.. when some did not know who she was?........... : now speak of her as if they knew her............... :

I'm really into Whole Life at the moment - what a fantastic song. Brian plays the bass - it's awesome. Has anyone else heard it?

YES!! I finally heard it and loved it. Do you think he also played the tambourine??

Another song I really like is India. It's become one of my favourite Paul songs. I really hope they perform it on the tour.
