The Pom Pom Pomming thread.

Inspired by responses to my posts about the NEW album I think there's mileage in broadening out this discussion to embrace all Pom Pom Pomming moments. My posts were about those unexpected moments when you realise your subconscious has taken over and selected a random tune and passed it into your concious - resulting in your singing, humming, whistling or, in my case, quietly pom pom pomming a phrase or stanza from a song while you work/drive or otherwise go about your daily business. The choices your subconscious make can be delightful or irksome in the extreme as these snippets can often be hard to shift. So what have you caught yourself pom pom pomming recently? I'll recap my most recent to kick this topic off: After listening to NEW all day, despite that, I found "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" forced itself into my brain. Then, more acceptably "Everybody Out There" the passage There but for the grace of God go You and I in particular. The following night "Save Us" grabbed my tongue - the passage In the heat of battle, you've got something that'll, save us, save us now. Last night Cat Steven's "Morning Has Broken" snuck in and took control - rather prematurely at one o'clock at night - perhaps wishful thinking? As I wrote in my earlier posts, I'm sure Sigmund Freud would have had a field day Come on now - 'fess up..... I've put this topic deliberately in Talk More Talk as unfortunately the psyche doesn't respect personal favourites such as Paul. Martin

It is amazing how your brain can be taken over by music. We have been on a cross country road trip & we listened to some country music (good for sing alongs) but after I bought NEW...we listened to that 3 times. So we are home now & I wake up with Paul's songs in myhead & hubby does a line from some country 'Night Train' (always about trains trucks beer girls haha) & I told him to STOP! You're ruining my Paul songs. And wouldn't you know it...his train song keeps creeping out. BUT mine will win... from It Turned Out... I took a walk into the fire when I heard you calling me. I took a chance of what it could be
