This is a software to manage chess games? databases. Some friends has been asking for a way to reproduce the chess games? collections that we are publishing here http://chess4real.com/free-chess-database-software-to-download/ , so? here you are, you can download it totally for free. This software is called SCID (?Shane?s Chess Information Database?), and it?s completely free. I consider ChessBase or ChessAssistant better softwares, more professionals and with better features, but to use them you have to pay for them, or hack them, thing I do not recommend. But, hey, this is free! This software was developed by Shane Hudson and Pascal Georges. All the merit is for them. This is the website: http://scid.sourceforge.net/index.html

pawns knights rooks bishops the queen the king GOD/LIFE and 2 players ...it is interesting how the energy/power is situationally distributed amongst the game pieces a well refined and well thought out game indeed

I agree with you, SurSteven. The pieces are harmoniously placed on the board. I'm not fond of shuffle chess nor the Fischerandom chess a.k.a. Chess960. The latter is Bobby Fischer's idea. He was probably shown the Chessmaster 4000 Turbo program then. Seriously, he was obviously against the idea of using computer program as a guide. He thought chess is just books and memorizations and not self-reliance. He admitted that he was guilty, as well. Well, chess is like school. You study and try to master the game, you graduate (if you had enough of it) and share to others what you learned. I like shuffle chess and Fischerandom but not much.

Chess is just a game, not a war. It's not violent, either. It's just a harmless game.

The reigning world chess champion Magnus Carlsen is just too intelligent and classy to become a Justin Bieber.

I'll restart my chess training. (Meaning, I'll play with all the different styles and personalities in the Chessmaster 4000 Turbo program.) I don't care if it'll take me 40 or 80 days to finish as long as I don't rush. I'll use the 'Auto-Annotate Move List...' feature after each game so that I can easily spot the blunders, mistakes or weak moves that I committed and the good moves that I overlooked. I will occassionally ask advice from the Chessmaster, of course. Isn't that fun?

I'll restart my chess training tomorrow. Monday.

Hope you do well!

SurSteven:
Hope you do well!
Thanks. I'll restart my chess training today and publish the games later. I just want to produce simple games, not classics.

The annotated Carlsen-Anand championship match have made a profound change on my chess. The funny thing is I find the annotations redundant - whatever the right word is - and not as professional like the ones in the Chessmaster 4000 Turbo program. It made me realised that you don't have to be like Morphy, Fischer or Kasparov, who make moves that I find a bit hard to understand, to win games. All you need is simple and logical plays. Maybe my impression is wrong... Also, I have said that the current world champion is not amazing. Well, that is true. In a sense that in his games you won't find major sacrifices like what Morphy and the others did. He's amazing in a sense that the champion he dethroned never won a single game. The last world championship is one of the most remarkable ever.

I learned to play chess in 1990 or '91. It was only in 1993 that I developed an interest and then after a couple of years, I stopped playing. It was only in 2012 that I developed a deep enthusiasm on the game. So you can consider I'm an intermediate player if not a newcomer.
