My fav Oasis/Noel Gallagher song (top 20 of all time songs for me), I think the lyrics sum it all, but the music is better
:
I think these guys said it better
better? no... though it's one of my Stones fav, from those out of the greatest hits and such...

I'm here cause, mostly,cause...
I just want to tell you goodbye, goodbye
not forever
but it's not gonna be the same from tomorrow on. Though the job is meant to last a couple of months or so. I've read somewhere in this thread that Sarah Palin is the "most desirable" over 40 in the whole world (desirable for what? I don't find a thing... maybe for having a laugh...), that deserves a crowd of "
:s"... I'm doing my usual things, singing with Mariah Carey, for instance... I must go. Goodbye "Yellow Brick Road"! (Elton and Billy Joel doing it live!)

I guess by "up on the wall of my room", I assumed you meant the bedroom, as in a 'shared' room. Now I get what you meant.
Ah no, no posters in the bedroom!

Noel is funny, but Liam is quite funny too. Here he even predicts 9/11!
I loved the answer to the first question. - How are you, Liam? - Godlike!Well, I confess that I couldn't understand much at all of anything he was saying
ops: but I love the Times Square background
and his line about seeing "Liam Gallagher" in the "LG" billboard is pretty good.
I understood every word. Let me know if you want me to translate.
LG stands for Liam Gallagher. Everyone knows that!

NOEL GALLAGHER QUOTE OF THE DAY: ?With every song that I write, I compare it to the Beatles. The thing is, they only got there before me. If I'd been born at the same time as John Lennon, I'd have been up there.?
up there with the band? what does he mean?
I guess he means that he should have made music with the same quality or even better than the Beatles.
: Or did he mean that if he was from the age of John and Paul it would be HIM making music with John Lennon and not Paul McCartney?
:
Either way, it's a pretty outrageous thing to say.
:
Outrageous? Not really. I'm sure he'd be up there with John Lennon if he were around in the 60s. Oasis have sold over 60 million records worldwide,[1] have had eight UK number-one singles and have collected 15 NME Awards, 5 Brit Awards, 9 Q awards and 4 MTV Europe awards. In February 2007, Oasis received the BRIT Award for outstanding contribution to music.

NOEL GALLAGHER QUOTE OF THE DAY: [size=17]?I'm not like John Lennon, who thought he was the great Almighty. I just think I'm John Lennon.?
Who is this Noel Gallangher? And why is everyone quoting him?!
Ever wondered why the thread is called the SUPERNOVA CLUB?
Why are we quoting him? Because he's the funniest man alive. That's why.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noel_Gallagher
I must admid that I never saw the link between the name of this thread and Oasis or Noel Gallagher.
ops: I'm not common with the music of Oasis, I heard some of it on the radio, but don't know any song tittle. So this is new for me too.
IMO the quotes you post of Noel aren't funny; they show the stupidity of Noel Gallagher.
stupidity? well, genius are like that, a similar stupidity to the McCartney or the Lennon one or the Mozart one or the Einstein one, only somewhat smaller
and this is Noel doing it alone live I'm free to be whatever I Whatever I choose And I'll sing the blues if I want I'm free to say whatever I Whatever I like If it's wrong or right it's alright Always seems to me You only see what people want you to see How long's it gonna be Before we get on the bus And cause no fuss Get a grip on yourself It don't cost much Free to be whatever you Whatever you say If it comes my way it's alright You're free to be wherever you Wherever you please You can shoot the breeze if you want It always seems to me You only see what people want you to see How long's it gonna be Before we get on the bus And cause no fuss Get a grip on yourself It don't cost much I'm free to be whatever I Whatever I choose And I'll sing the blues if I want Here in my mind You know you might find Something that you You thought you once knew But now it's all gone And you know it's no fun Yeah I know it's no fun Oh I know it's no fun I'm free to be whatever I Whatever I choose And I'll sing the blues if I want I'm free to be whatever I Whatever I choose And I'll sing the blues if I want Whatever you do Whatever you say Yeah I know it's alright Whatever you do Whatever you say Yeah I know it's alrightFor instance, Noel said that he tried to make with Oasis as band as good as the Beatles. You can say that's stupidity... or ego or whatever... ("I'm free to say whatever I want....") But Paul McCartney said about it: "Good luck, son then!" like, well, you're gonna have to try very hard and your band will not like MY band... it's the same kind of ego or stupidity... Actually when the Beatles were "no-one" in the business they always said they were going "to the toppermost of the poppermost!"... at least Noel hasn't said that...
But it's the only way, if you don't believe you can do it you'll never do it. You'll never try to do such good music if you don't think you can. It don't come easy, you have to believe in yourself so dare to do all that's needed. If not, no way of achieving such outstanding results. My fav Oasis/Noel Gallagher song (top 20 of all time songs for me), I think the lyrics sum it all, but the music is better
:
I've never seen Noel perform that song. Thanks for the link!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! Have a nice day.
Nice picture, Oliver... Thanks for sharing.
http://i31.tinypic.com/jpgcg2.jpg
Good afternoon to you!
Chilly weather here today....it's right at freezing (32F) here, with an expected high today of 47F....not too bad at all.
I haven't been outside yet, so my opinion will likely change if it's windy.
It's also looking like we won't be getting snow after all. Probably just as well.
How is everybody?
Good afternoon to you! Things are going great. 47F in NY? That is not bad at all. Here we've had 5°C today. We actually got some snow, but it was very little. I think it was 1 cm...
But it doesn't seem we'll get more snow this week, it's to warm for that. Maybe on Saturday: http://full.storm.no/aftenposten/vaer.aspx?lat=59.91&lon=10.75&m=16&sted=Oslo How are you? Did you see Billy Elliot?
Looks like you have some colder weather now though!
Yes, we did see Billy Elliot! It was really wonderful.
Many cast members are kids, and the lead 'kid roles' are double and even triple-cast, as they're so intense and exhausting that kids that young can't do 8 shows a week and still survive and do homework, etc.
I had seen the movie years ago, but seeing it live on stage was infinitely better! It's a sad story in some ways, but a very uplifting one by the end of it. It's all about a young boy finding his place in the world, and following his heart, rather than succumbing to what society expects of him, and it's also about his struggle to gain that societal support, even from his own family. Great, great story.
I think it's colder here than in NY, It's snowing right now.. I think we have around 10 inches snow, but in the city centre there is nothing. Driving is ok, there's a lot of salt on the roads as usual in the winter, not very slippery. But they say we're going to get a lot more snow in a couple of days. The Billy Elliot move was very good, cool that enjoyed the musical, I would love to see it one day.
Maybe next time I'm in London. I found some videos on this site: http://www.billyelliotthemusical.com/video/ Looks like a great musical!

NOEL GALLAGHER QUOTE OF THE DAY: ?Americans are crazy. They have this fascination with throwing their shoes on stage. I've been to a lot of shows in me life, some good and some bad. But I was never moved to take off me shoes and throw it at the lead singer.? I've got to agree with Noel, Americans are crazy.

Evie...FANTASTIC review and wonderful photos, I feel I was along for the ride! I hope you are saving these for when you're 64.
I've kept little journals, just jotted down a few things every day, on my foreign trips and they are fun to read years later.
This board has basically been my diary for the last five years.
:
Pathetic, isn't it?
But it's true. That's why I'm always so upset when someone's deleting posts. 'Cause I do read some of it back from time to time.
What's pathetic about that? You've shared a lot of fun times with friends on this forum, and there's nothing 'pathetic' about enjoying having a "record" of it to flip back through sometimes.
I agree, there is nothing pathetic about using this board as a diary. One of the things I like about this board is that no one deletes our posts. Some people want to leave this place... I'm not one of them.
I am sure many WISH they could erase posts form eh...certain threads!!
Oh no, not this one, of course not!
Yeah... I wish I could delete all posts with pics of Jensen Ackles, George Clooney, Robbie Williams...

Funny, some of us might feel the same way about Denise and Scarlett.

Nah, you love Denise and Scarlett.

I was lost in "youtubeville" and didn't hear the timer so my bread got too high
It was too late to bother with punching it down and letting it rise again so I baked it....now it's out of control "balloon bread"
:
It will be a pain to slice nicely plus it probably has big air pockets
Damn.....I am sooooo easily distracted

The other day 'Torti-fat' was between curiosity and fear...she stayed on the step while I sat in the doorway and sweet-talked her. She wasn't buyin' it
What are you talking about?!? That bread looks great!
Love the name 'Torti-fat'.
So, you're still no closer to getting those cats to warm up to you than you were in the beginning? Although, it's not that surprising, I guess, as most ferals will stay that way for life, unfortunately.
I agree, the bread looks great! Too bad I live so far away from Portland.

I make a couple 'normal' bread size loaves today....and started going through the 'too much crap' in my garage.
I have a pile for the garbage, a pile for recycle and a pile for donation...and I'm not done yet
: My brother has a ton of wood scraps in there and I need him to decide "in reality
: " what he might someday use and what can be recycled.
Off to mom's to spend the night since my 'taxi' duties start early tomorrow.
