Got a question: How does one become lucky enough to be selected to attend one of Paul's great sound checks? I've heard from a number of sources on the web that select gentry have been in attendance. ( When Paul played Yankee Stadium, we stood at an open door where we could see him on the stadium screen where he did 18 songs! ) How do you manage to get include in what, for me, would be a high honor indeed! Any thoughts out there? Have any of you had the honor? Shout out here with your thoughts, OK? Thanks!

Hi Walt. The majority attending sound-check have purchased that opportunity. Usually as part of a deal which includes near-front seating for the the show itself. These deals are marketed by a couple of agencies depending on which continent Paul is performing in. Event Travel : http://www.eventtravel.com/Paul-McCartney-Tickets manage Europe and South America VIP ticket sales. and SloTix - a division of TicketMaster manage North American VIP ticket sales. https://slotix.com/tours/paul-mccartney/out-there/ All VIP deals can be accessed directly from Paul's own web-site through the dedicated links here: http://www.paulmccartney.com/live/27468-out-there The opportunity is available to anyone and is not, as your post suggests, by invitation. There is, of course, the "other world" of celebrity and influential guests and access for those would be negotiated between Paul and the celebrity guest's management and PR teams. Martin

Thanks, martinput! Aha! Now I get it! As I never go after VIP seating myself, I didn't think of it! Believe me, when I finally hit the lottery, THOSE will be the tickets I'll purchase! It would be , however, an interesting sweepstakes opportunity if Paul's team could set aside a number of sound-check seats at each venue in order to give his less well-heeled fans ( aka ME!) a chance to get to attend one of his great sound checks. How cool would that be? Thanks again!

Is the song 'Celebration' still a regular part of the sound check set list as it has been the past few tours? Also, how many hours ahead of the show does Paul usually conduct sound check? My daughter and I may try to catch it from the outside before we attend the Boston/Fenway Park show...as it is, we're going in to Boston early to make a full 'Boston' day of it (may hit Fanuel Hall first, maybe the aquarium - if the main/large tank is open again, etc)

Yes, altho I don't think he's been doing it at every soundcheck, but at most of them.

he's been starting at around 5:30 pm at the US on this tour. Don't know if that will change for the stadium shows, tho.

Thanks a lot - we'll be in the area regardless....if we miss it, or if my daughter doesn't want to wait for whatever reason, there's a number of good restaurants in the immediate area (although I'm sure she'll insist on Unos) and of course the Guitar Center is only right around the block from Fenway...So I'm sure we'll find a way to occupy our time 🙂

I did my bucket list sound check. While I wish I could only do sound checks in the future, I do not have the $$$ to do it.

Ah yes, I spent many hours in that Guitar Center right down on Boylston St killing time before Sox games and concerts on Landsdowne St. Good times

The best I know of is this one from Yankee Stadium two years ago:

If there's a better audio recording of it somewhere, I'd love to know about it.
