Sometimes to cheer myself up I ponder the fact  a few new planets were discovered of the "consistency of cotton candy" with one or more also a pink color. Which I read a while back. It makes me smile; the Creator can be so whimsical,  and is the ultimate Artist.

              Did you also get tested?

The good news is the vaccine is soon to be available! The U.K. just approved the Pfizer one for emergency use.

We had our office virtual Christmas party this afternoon where we opened our Secret Santa gifts. The gift my secret santa had sent to me hasn't arrived yet due to the postal delays, but I was shown a picture of it. It was an adorable little stuffed Paul in his yellow submarine suit!

The company that I work for was really good about paying all the workers for time off before some of us came back to work with Covid rules in place - Masks and cleaning etc...

They were also good about not taking away personal time and vacation time,

so I scattered a few days from May until now and used some vacation time and I don't have to return until after New Year's Day. So to me it is nice to have time off. (Unlike what I hear from those who have been staying home).

                  That being said ...

It was strange. No Christmas lunch or anything similar. No decorations, because many were working from home. Not even a handshake and understandably so with all of these ...

It just felt strange to wish the handful of people there to enjoy their Holiday, or their time off. Nobody spoke of any plans - other than what ever they do around the area. It hasn't even hit me yet... it feels like a weekend right now, Strange,  just a walk away and see you next year .... it is today's world .... it still takes some getting used to,

They said they would test but they didn’t. There were only 24 on the plane so we spread out...  At the airport they told me they’re only testing for international travel. Honestly, I’ve been a bit depressed since I’ve been back. It was so nice having company.   Donald Lame Duck and his schemes are making me sad too.  To think he was OK with his crazy version of herd mentality and trying to give everyone COVID is insane.  Millions would die. I’d rather watch Bye Don filling his cabinet and govt jobs with every type of person to represent our country. It has made me cry.  I’m so happy to see a decent man at the helm once again.  God Bless us all.

                      Funny...
Until you mentioned it, I hadnt really given it a thought.

"Secret Santa"/delivery is kind of PERFECT for this year!!!

I don’t understand why they make apps that only work on the latest phones!? This world is going in the wrong direction making things that break or don’t work after a couple of years!  Things used to work,  made with good workmanship, for many many years! They’re going to have to change that after the Pandemic.

Agreed - I have been saying something similar.

I recently changed or upgraded something, when the old one was still working, but it was not able to adjust to the change - in other words they made it obsolete on purpose.

I also enjoyed some cartooning during my off time - but now I have to go back... The program that I use stopped working and la la la what do I see? Why the company has a new product out there, what a coincidence !  After some reload and clean up and update attempts, I think I can still make the old program work ... from the comments at the site and on forums for help, it looks like many agree with liking the older version.  All of these things could have lasted and should. One did fail because of workmanship and the company said sorry about that ... we can't help you, but can offer you 25% off on a new one.

We need a new Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, someone to think outside the box and to reinvent the wheel.   Someone who could jump onto Quantum Encrypted computers which will so enhance security for years to come and render our hackable systems obsolete.  That would be the great challenge and yet would change the world as we know it and be the greatest fulfilment to the persons who develop this!

I miss the days when your stove and washing machine and your refrigerator lasted 20-30 years. The money spent on the planned obsolescence and continued repurchasing of these electronic items could be used in better ways and all the broken hulks of dead equipment would not be overloading our dumps and ocean floors.

Interesting... I never knew that until now. I always thought that the pictures came from his imagination. Since he sent out photographers and used their photos with a few artistic license... they are still his art work. I don't know a lot about his background because I never looked into it ... did he give any photographer credit? Recognition? Tip his hat or thank them?  I guess I can look up these questions at some time.

^ I heard that on this goofy news show I listen to. WGN TV. This morning they showed another art project. Kim Kardashian's 7 year old is starting to get in the news with what her Mom claims is her art. Do you think a 7 year painted this?    https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-moms/news/kim-kardashian-shows-daughter-norths-masterpiece-painting-pic/

I went to the Norman Rockwell museum a few years ago.  What I remember was that Norman used many local people in his paintings.  It is common for painters to pre photograph their subjects and fill in information later.  People would have to sit for too long.  I've read that Norman Rockwell by volume, was a more prolific photographer than a painter so I'm thinking he took the set up photos himself.
