I have too many things on my mind. I need Paul amd his music to chase away all those unnecessary thoughts away.

For those who speak and or write other languages very well, I applaud you.

I have only known English. (And even that language I have made mistakes ha ha ha). I learned a bit of C++ and guitar.

I thought that there was no way that you could teach an old dog new tricks (meaning me of course).

I am trying to learn a few languages by an app -

            For possible travel to Europe.

I was surprised that I could do some of the lessons well (I didn't think anything new could be pounded into my head).

And then comes the reality of the rules and how words are used and then trying to hear them when they are said "normal" - there is a turtle speed that somewhat helps.

One moment I pat myself on the back on doing well and the next moment I mess up the simple words and it is difficult to identify any sentence.

            It is a challenge ... I can learn this/ no I can't ...🙃

I studied French for years.  As soon as I could read and write reasonably well, I thought I was fluent.  Then I worked in Paris, where everyone speaks at 100 mph.  According to the text books, I do well in French.  Actual French people, however, knew I was a foreigner a mile away.

Hailey, my problem exactly. I can read it half way decently, but can only get certain words when the French speak it bc they speak so fast. I was having this conversation with a friend who lived in Spain for around a year and she said when you live there for a while it gets much easier to pick up.

Living in a place where everyone speaks the language makes it much easier.  I would have never learned Chinese from a CD or app.  French is easier, because it's closer to English, but being in France is nothing like sitting in a classroom in Minnesota.

Sometimes going online is so boring and you feel there's mainly just a lot of junk there and some of it's so disgusting. Lately, though, I've had right much fun on the Net. I cringe at some of what I write, that it's silly, embarrassing, pretentious or too hard ass or that I should just be on social activism sites to help effect positive change; but it's just more fun to write about music, and movies, "entertainment" and the Arts, culture both high and pop culture.. I'm usually working, and just read and watch movies, and listen to music, for fun. More reading than anything for fun. I don't have televison (laughs).
