Just lately I have learned that front row centre of all macca gigs are left for random upgrades for people at the back who get picked. What a joke. I don't mean to be sour grapes but these tickets like hot sound cost nearly 800 dollars and someone with a 80 dollar ticket getting straight to the front is a laugh. When I was at Birmingham, The first 3 rows all got bands so we could go forward to the stage leaving the hot sounds row four looking at all of us like what is going on, I felt so bad for them, come on man stop this upgrading system I mean people pay hard earned money for these seats, and I don't want to stand next to some idiot from row zzxx345 who doesnt even know the words to yellow submarnine...sorry for being miserable on this I am sorry but its just the way I feel.

Not to change your opinion, but did you ever think that some of those people "way in the back" are true McCartney fans that just can't afford premium packages and the upgrade to the first row was a "dream come true" for them?

I think they could put these people from the cheap seats up front but on the sides. I've heard front row people that pay for their seats complain about being way off to the side. I had 2nd row row with a soundcheck pkg once & was way off on the far aisle.

Personally, I think it's wonderful to make a magical night for someone who is not at all expecting it. I have gone to the back at another artist's show when I was able to upgrade my tickets a few hours before a show to 1st row. I found a couple of young ladies way in the back and asked if they'd like to move up to the 7th row right off the center aisle. They looked at my friend and I like we had 3 heads and then started screaming, jumping up and down and hugging us. I was so happy to have made their night and pay it forward for the second row seat that I was once gifted with from someone I happened to see alone at lunch at our hotel and invited her to join my friend and I. Didn't know her from Adam but I don't like to see fans sitting alone eating when everyone else is with someone having a ball. Didn't have a clue that she had a front row ticket to sell at cost and her niece's 2nd row ticket to give away! My friend bought the ticket and she gifted me with the other which I couldn't have afforded to buy at the time. It's a wonderful thing to make someone's day...especially at Paul's show so I say God bless them for doing this! The people given the chance to move up aren't jerks; Paul is just into giving a few lucky people the night of their life!

Overall, I think it's a great move on Paul's part. However, I can understand the annoyances for sure. I think they need to define the regulations a bit more fairly for themselves. At Fedex Field, I had $30 nosebleeds. Front row of the topmost seats dead center...I was looking forward to it! AS we went up the escalator, a man with an MPL shirt on, handed us tickets down in the first level of seats on "the corner of the stage"...they were behind the stage. Needless to say, I went back up to my $30 seats...not every "upgrade" is worth it.

I've heard some Korean people also moved their seats from 3rd floor to front row in the center by MPL on 2nd May 2015. The cheapest ticket price for the 3rd floor was under USD 40. They were very lucky to see Sir Paul with people who bought Hot Sound package.

Would you rather see people who paid for cheaper seats in the front row or record company executives and industry people who only go to be seen? When I'm on a plane, the people around me could have paid half or twice as much as what I paid. It doesn't make any difference. I still paid what I paid. It's still the same flight either way.

I like this idea of moving fans from the back row to the front row. MPL gets a from me

In 03, I got a front row seat that I paid a lot of money for and it was off to Paul's left which was good for me cause he noticed all my signs anyway the girl setting next to me got one of the upgrades and while maybe I paid a lot of money it was neat for her to have been that close too and I was excited because I could actually see the teeth in his mouth and he even gave me an autograph. I just know how happy it made her and her boyfriend or husband at the time and I think it's nice Paul does this. It's not my show or my tickets to give away so what he does is his thing to do.

AGREE ! I have paid the big bucks for SC & 3rd row a few times, twice Iv'e had to put up with "upgrades" in front of me.Not interested in Paul at all, just how much booze they can drink in 3 hours. At one the boyfriend left 5 times to bring back beer ! Another one the girl was more interested in taking selfies with her date every few minutes. Thank God last year in Chicago, the "upgrades" in front of me were a daughter & her Mother who had always wanted to see Paul. They had nosebleed seats & now were totally thrilled ! It was fun being close to a fan of 50+ years seeing him for the first time. As for front row...most $2000 seats are on the side,( some exceptions) & the middle of the front has the young girls just thrilled to be up front & be noticed. I'm sure they didn't pay the $2000.!

I go back so far,I'm in front of me

Instead of picking "fans" as they are walking in,maybe Paul's people should look for them around the merchandise booths. These are the Paul fans, not someone there because it's the concert of the week,& just want to party.

I go back so far,I'm in front of me

I agree that can be the case, as long as you accept it isn't always.... see my post i made in the birmingham thread albeit it was about the Liverpool concert!

                            Eeee Cor Blimey:

the people who got front row centre in liverpool tho... not fans. A family of 5, one woman thought she could sit back down again after she'd clapped him on, and the daughters boyfriend spent all night looking bored, drinking, and going to the bar. He spent helter skelter bolt still and not moving. Paul stared him out! We had 2nd row middle (yaaaaay!) so i noticed all this! And i noticed first night london the front row middle were pretty much all 20 year old skimpy dressed women taking selfies of themselves with paul (with lager in the other hand) and going to the bar! And 2nd night london a young couple on the end of the front row middle block sat down the whole show... now if they were unwell that's different, but cmon guys!!! I had a blast in my seats, so this isn't a rant based on jealousy i promise! Just annoyed at the way some people are 😉

And while we're on about front tickets i'd like to point out that "slo tix" is run by shelley lazaar yes? I hear americans on here mention her a lot? She's the american version of "event travel" and does all the vip packages in the states. But does not exist over here at all. (Bear with me, i have a point to this!) Now right from the day the tickets went on sale, 2nd row - pretty much all the 2nd row middle block, for all the shows (but esp liverpool as thats what i was following the most) was instantly onsale on viagogo and stubhub for about £800 a ticket from touts. Where did they get the tickets? We all just innocently assume they just beat us all to the presale... But the day before liverpool, when the touts finally dropped their prices to clear what they had left - we bought 2nd row middle tickets! And guess what company was written at teh bottom as the agency they came from? Yep, "slo tix". So i guess Paul's fave promoter sells block tickets to touts - as viagogo is notorious for pretnding a person is selling then when in fact viagogo themselves had a deal with various promoters. I seem to be the only one annoyed by this... i mentioned it in a nother thread, so am venting here for a final time!!!!! g'night!!!

                            .
