The Pets Thread
-
Do you have a pet you love more than your kids or loved one? Ahahaha. Here's a chance to show us a picture and talk about your pets! Here's mine:
My Bengal cat called Rufus T Firefly! And as a baby:
-
Woody and Moggy..best of buddies.
The little female..Shorty.
-
FrankieJ..your kitteh looks like my little female, Shorty. All my cats are rescue cats, if I hadn't taken them they would have ended up dying on the streets or put to sleep at the pound. But I'm not going to become the crazy cat lady..my cats are all inside only cats and they have all been fixed.

I adopted my dog 5 years ago. She was abused & had been a hunting dog. She was adopted out & returned.
Now...she's got it made! Her name is Lucy (in the sky)
She's a coonhound...cousin of English foxhounds.

all of the pets are beautiful!
-

Here is Rocco, short for Rocky Raccoon

there should be a 'forum' link in photobucket that you copy. Then you need to click the little square that says img right above this entry box & then copy the pic addy in & click on the Img box again. It will look like this

Here's Lucy in her little bed. It was my previous dog's bed & Lu found it & laid in it...so it's hers now!

Thanks FrankieJ. Yes, he is definitely a schnauzer, about a 26 pounder, so he's about half way between a mini and a regular. He's out in the snow right now

What a cutie! How old is he? Looks young. glad you were able to post his pic!

Thank you for helping me post that. Well, we got him on 10.8.10 and he was 2 yrs. old. We don't know his birthday. The previous owner said they had too many pets and turned him into the shelter. I went two wks. in a row. Somehow missed him the first time. Thank you for saying that. Yes, he is an ornery little things, but sweet too. Sorta sweet 'n sour at the same time
This photo was taken by a volunteer who loved him and looked after him in the shelter. She said he reminded her of her schnauzer who she said she had had for 17 years. I was surprised she didn't adopt him.

We don't know Lucy's real birthday either but we celebrate the day we got her as her birthday & call it a "GOTCHA DAY".
Kinda goofy but it works. At least it's a date & a cause for celebration!

Oh gosh, THANK YOU for the idea!!!! That is so sweet. Where did you get her?
-
I found her on petfinder.com. Just type in your zip code & they show you a list of available dogs. You can narrow it down by sex, breed, dog, cat, whatever. Very cool. She was in a foster home not too far from us & I think she originally came from a shelter in Indiana. We dragged our heels a bit after we looked at her...work got very busy...and she got adopted out from under us! But then she got returned. YAY! We went & got her! Sorry to go on & on but I do wish everyone would look at adoptable pets. They have so much to give.
