Love, love, love British mini series. Last week turned my friend on to Foyle's War and Downton Abbey. I also enjoyed Upstairs Downstairs. There are so many. Can't remember names of others I've watched. What are some of your favorites?

Atlanta, GA, Omni, George Harrison, Thanksgiving 1974
Atlanta, GA, Paul and Linda McCartney, May 1, 1993
Missoula, MT, (sound check), Paul McCartney, August 5, 2014
Cleveland, OH, Ringo's Rock Hall Induction, April 18, 2015

Ok, Audi. Here's a clip of the 1981 one that Nancy saw:

At the office, so I can't fully indulge -- but I'm awfully curious. It's been a while since I'd last watched a period film of this sort (I loved the film Maurice many moons ago). Does anyone remmeber the PBS special from around 2003 that was a reality show of sorts -- casting British participants to live, work, dress, etc. EXACTLY as the British had during the Edwardian Period? Very educational and entertaining.

I know it's not a mini-series but I've gotta give a shoutout to Jeeves and Wooster cos I've been gettin into that recently! Also the ITV Titanic mini series was quite good. Interesting how they spent 3 episodes telling seperate stories from the different classes points of view, and then in the final episode you see it all links up and you find out who lives and dies!

That sounds really good, Darth. Hadn't heard about it. Have to check into it.

Sorry, Audi. Didn't see that one. Foyle's War is really good for WWII period costumes and setting.

Yes! I remember it! The women really had it bad! Did you like Brideshead Revisited? The two main guys are hot for each other too! (I never saw the 2008 version--only the 1981 one.)

Last night I thought about "Are You Being Served?" and how funny it is. I wonder if PBS is still showing that. I worked in a big department store in White Plains N.Y. for a short time and it was rather a surreal experience, being there as a worker compared to just dropping in as a casual browser or customer. It wasn't as funny as the Brit sitcom though! No colorful wacky characters like that crazy crew. "Brideshead Revisited" became tedious and I got over "Downton Abbey" pretty quickly. (Might have Attention Deficit Disorder at times.) I really loved Eastenders for several years, wanted to be on it as the American cousin who couldn't understand what anybody was saying and showed up carrying my belongings in big black trash bags and worked part-time at the Vic. Or worse, in the laundrymat with Pauline.

These are not "mini-series" but I love Downtown Abbey, Poldark, Spaced (Simon Pegg), Ripper Street, Orphan Black, Doctor Who, Broadchurch (David Tennant!), Atlantis, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, and Wolf Hall.

I just started watching Vicious (Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi) towards the end of the 2nd season. It is so funny, I had to buy both seasons 1 & 2. Iwan Rheon is in it too (he plays the sadistic Ramsay Bolton on Game of Thrones)
