The 2012 and beyond Political Thread - Part 2

Yep, mittens releasing his tax forms could put this all to rest...so you just gotta wonder why he won't do that...must be some pretty incriminating stuff in them.

I've learnt that there's one big difference between elections in the USA and elections in Spain. In Spain there is no talk about candidates' finances, families, sexual affaires, singing, etc. I don't know if it's better or not but sure is different.

In the USA ... if you are a Democrat - you are given a free pass to the White House .... they don't check anything on you (*if they find something it is hushed up really quick like).... reporters and stuff want to rub elbows with the elite and be invited to all the parties ..... soon they become cheerleaders for the party .... and go after the other side. if you are a Republican ..... they send teams and teams to check you out ...every detail

I disagree. The maninstream media stands to profit by reporting how neck-and-neck Romney and Obama are, depite numerous polls suggesting a much more significant lead by Obama.

You guys think Romney made a killing off the housing collapse in 2007 and '08?

Maybe. I think he may also have profited greatly from the Iraq war and maybe even profited from selling arms to the Taliban etc. Whatever is in his tax returns is pretty bad because his not releasing them is hurting him so he is calculating that releasing them will hurt him even more than not releasing them. He is a lying money grabbing #@$%&! Corrupt beyond belief Also a major whiner So true

You know things are bad for a Republican candidate when FOX NEWS is giving him a hard time: Mitt Romney only has himself to blame for Team Obama's Bain trap: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/07/16/mitt-romney-only-has-himself-to-blame-for-team-obama-bain-trap/?cmpid=GoogleNewsEditorsPicks&google_editors_picks=true

... So true
It's too late to nip this issue in the bud -- this tax-record situation has officially "got legs," as they say in the news world.

Where are the conservatives of this thread??????? They usually defend the indefensible with unconscionable ease. Could it be that we so-called "libitards"... ...have won?

Even Rupert Murdoch who owns fox says Obama will win. Of course, rupert and fox are going down too as the hacking corruption investigations get going in the US as they have been in the UK http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/01/rupert-murdoch-obama-romney-2012-election_n_1640975.html

The Spanish economist has not answered my question, I must admit it was a complicated one. I believe and I think he believes it too, that music industry will disappear and there will remain only musicians that do it for the sake of it, no professional musicians. (yes, even the big majors are about to collapse...) For the last 50/60 years it has been kind of "knock 100 doors and one will open" and now it's more like "oh yeah, all the doors are open but there's nothing inside" okey!

Questions for Romney: 1.) How can you possibly have $3 million in an IRA when ordinary citizens may save no more than $2,000 a year? 2.) What is a "retroactive retirement"? How does one post-date a resignation after bringing home an anuual salary of $100,000 for three years? 3.) John Kerry's wife -- who, by the way, _wasn'_t the Democratic candidate in 2004 -- actually DID provide tax returns. Why are you lying about her? 4.) Why did John McCain decide to go with Sarah Palin as his VP pick immediately after reviewing the 20 years worth of tax returns you'd provided for him in 2008? 5.) If 20 years worth of tax returns were easily accessible to you in '08, why are they so hard to come by now?
