So if the floor including a "special effect" is the whole of the "new stage", it could be something like lights shooting out of it for all we know.

It mentions a closed rehearsal on May 03, not available to the public. I don't know what it's like in the U.S. and Europe, but in Brazil he usually goes to the stadiums the night before the actual concert for a closed rehearsal. I have witnessed that a few times, and I'll definitely be at the stadium on the evening of May 03. The article also mentions that the stage will start being built after a soccer match between Brazil and Chile on April 24. The equipment weighs 200 tons, there will be huge LED screens and the stage floor will include a "special effect". This articles does not mention what exactly that special effect is, but the Brazilian tour promoter had mentioned in a previous interview that there will be a platform which will bring Paul closer to the audience. I'm guessing it will be something similar to the one used in the 1993 tour during songs like "Let Me Roll It" and "Hey Jude", as you can see in this video: What's that tiny black dot doing in the floor seats? That's an area surrounded by a metal fence (about 4 feet high) not available to the audience, in which equipment is stored. Access is restricted to those working at the concert. You can see that area in these images below:
By the way, there are no floor seats. Everyone (about 20,000 people) is standing on the field, and the grass is protected by an artifical floor made of something that feels like rubber, but it's actually made of a much more sophisticated material. -

That's an area closer to the stage, in which tickets are more expensive.

I do like what I hear on this thread but living on nerves that Paul won't play Ireland.Lets hope we get to see him once more in our part of the world. I've been to 7 shows & wanna make it an even number!

From the most recent McCartney tour announcement: "Paul McCartney's "Out There" tour will feature brand new, never before seen production and, as ever, hours of material from the most beloved catalog in popular music, with Paul performing songs spanning his entire career -- as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course The Beatles." This one is going to be truly special. Gutted I won't be there this time.

This looks very promising and long overdue, just need the process of announcing the dates to fall in line!

Glad to hear he is changing up things a bit I just hope he shakes up the set list, and no I am not one who does not want to hear any Beatles, I love them,but drop in some more wings and obscure Beatles. You are always gonna have at least 8 songs that will not change.
Would be nice if the new album was ready by tour and he played some of the new songs. Personally, I enjoy his tours much better when he has a new record out.

If my memory is correct, thought he had a platform taking him into the audience during 1993 tour. Believe the whole band stood on it during some songs in acoustic set.
