There's another theory on the latest Netflix flick. That the monarchs will do whatever it takes to preserve the monarchy and Diana threatened them somehow. They weren't saying the Royals had her killed, but that they were concerned over her popularity. It was an enlightening series. They showed how popular David was before he came to the throne and abdicated (King name was Edward the something), saying how charismatic he was. I hadn't realized that. They compared him to Diana, who was also charismatic. It's worth viewing for the historical aspect.
