Predict Next Setlist

audi:
That would mean he's almost literally returning to the same city (Tokyo) with the same show within a year.
I'm sure there's still a lot of people that didn't get to go last time and probably a lot of fans that just don't care as much as we do since he performs there far less.

Good point.

Paul does a 36 song Setlist with all Solo Songs. Just Kidding folks! Seriously, I do think there will be a couple of Setlist surprises...at least I hope they will come true. As we all realisticly know, Paul's 2014 Setlist will be Beatles heavy with some Wings and Solo songs as well. The 2 surprises that make sense to me are: *Heavy dose of "NEW" songs (not jus the 4 he did in 2013 but maybe as many as *Paul and Band does "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and/or "She Loves You" (maybe one of them being the show opener). As far as the 1st prediction, I see a heavy does of NEW Songs because Paul has pretty much exhausted his Beatle additons. I thought he was grasping with last year's additions. Yes, O'Darling would be a great addition but I don't think his voice could handle it night after night. The other factor for more "NEW" songs is that history has shown that Paul rarely adds an older Solo song (i.e. a track from Tug of War, Flaming Pie etc) to the Setlist. He generally only does Solo songs from his latest CD he is promoting. Also the fact that his Band actually played on the NEW CD and that many of the songs are Concert friendly adds fuel to my prediction. They already know the songs. Here are the NEW songs that I think he could play at 2014 shows: Save us New Queenie Eye Everybody Out There Alligator On My Way to Work Early Days I Can Bet As far as Beatle additons, I can see the Band doing "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and/or "She Loves You" strictly because of the 50th Anniversay of the Beatles coming to America. These 2 are definite crowd pleasers and could really generate a lot of excitement especially for the loyal fans who have seen Paul mulltiple times. What do you all think? What will be the "never done before" songs or big surprises for 2014.
-
I would love to be surprised, but I think it will be the same setlist from Japan, with maybe one more song from New replacing something else. After all, his main purpose is to show his Out There tour to places that haven't seen it yet.

My prediction: "From me to you"

I would be thrilled to see 8 "New" songs in the upcoming setlist. I was hoping he would do the entire album "live"! I have to agree with you as well about "I Want To Hold Your Hand"...I can really see them opening the U.S. shows with it...no better way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their arrival here!

I predict the same set list as Japan in 2013 with EARLY DAYS added, maybe.
-
I don't think we will see a single thing change. Paul is not one to honor anniversaries or releases. Frankly, in this day and age of his setlists, we're lucky to have four NEW songs in the show....let's hope they stay!!!!

Good points!

McCartney indeed never adds songs to honour any anniversary or even to promote an archive release or new singles, but knowing this is a new leg of the tour, a half year after his last shows, even coming back to the exact same territory, I do think he will change around 2 or 3 songs. Unfortunately for Europe...

"...Paul is not one to honor anniversaries...."
I have to disagree with that...just look at the recent anniversary celebration that took place in L.A. in February.

But that wasn't in his setlist in his own show.

Just a thought...after all everything is just speculation until the shows begin.

I would love to hear BIG BARN BED live, just like the original recording from Red Rose Speedway.

Doesn't look good for us Philly fans. Just checked Citizens Bank Park's Website. They actually show 2 non-Baseball / concert dates for their beautiful park. They are: 8/1 - FL-Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, & Tyler Farr 8/2 - Billy Joel Hope that Philly Paul fans are surprised this week but you would think that if Macca was playing the week of 7/14, it would have been announced by now. By the way, I wonder if that first concert above will be a sell-out. I have heard of FL - Georgia Line but who are the other acts. Must be country artists. I've never thought of Philadelphia being a big country market unless it is someone much bigger like Kenny Chesney. Obviously, Billy Joel will probably sellout quickly. If Paul is not appearing at Citizen's Bank Park (or anywhere else in N. J, I hope it is Pittsburgh. I would drive (about 6 - 7 hours) to Pittsburgh to see Macca this year.

hmmm well I am not too sure about this. On one end your right, but then again, Paul does do random things. I remember back in 2012, he mentioned in Mexico City that it was 19 years ago that he last played the next song and he burst into "Hope of Deliverance." Since Off the Ground came out 20 years ago last year, he might still do something random like that "19 years anniversary" of Off The Ground again.

Yes, but there's a difference between stating the last time he's played a song, and specifically playing it for that reason.
