I just joined the forum because I'm going to this show, my first show ever from one of my heroes. I'm excited, I can't wait. Looking at the set, I wish there was more Wings material, but whatever. Paul is Paul and this is gonna be wonderful.
Have a great time!!! It's not everyday you can say you are going to see one of The Beatles so make sure to take it all in. I will be there up in the rafters watching the airplanes fly over

Is there a place on the message board to sell extra tix? I'm still going to MetLife but now have a couple of extras...are we allowed to discuss that here or take it to StubHub?

I hope in a new song add for this gig!

I just got the email from MetLife Stadium re. Sunday. Love how they underlined "may." "We are getting ready for event day here at MetLife Stadium with Paul McCartney's "One On One" Tour on Sunday, August 7, 2016. We have put together some items we hope answer your questions for the event! Please arrive early, in plenty of time, because there will be high security at venue entrances and Paul McCartney may go on stage at 8:00 pm prompt."

I wouldn't hold your breath mate, you know how he doesn't really change up. Especially considering how little difference there was in the setlist from Out There to One on One

What time does soundcheck start? Anyone with actual info regarding this specific gig?

Nobody knows exactly what time soundcheck will start; it begins whenever Paul arrives. That is usually anywhere from 5 pm to 6 pm, depending on traffic, etc. If you want to be sure to catch it, I would not arrive at the venue any later than 4 pm.

3 DAYS PEOPLE!!!! First NYC area show for Paul since Irving Plaza in 2015, but first really accessible show in the NYC area since Barclays in 2013. Excited for this beyond words. Parking lot opens at 3, btw. Anyone been to MetLife for a gig before? What's it like? Is it too big, or manageable? Never been to a concert this large, let alone a Paul show this large.

I've never been to the current stadium, either. I did go once to the old stadium, which was a little smaller capacity, but not for Paul. This will be the largest venue I've seen Paul in, also, and I'm not thrilled about it; much prefer somewhere smaller. I probably won't be able to see much at all! This thread has been so quiet! Actually, it's been quiet in general re. this show: nothing in the local papers, haven't heard anyone talking about it. Even the NY papers, which did have photos of Paul at Tony Bennett's party, didn't even mention him in the headlines or the articles! One radio station has been giving tickets away, but other than that, nothing. At least the weather is supposed to be perfect! Enjoy!

_________________________________________________________ Great to hear that the weather is looking good. You are always taking a chance at outdoor stadiums. Since Paul has toured so frequently in the US, the media is quite blas? about his appearances. I remember back in 1989 how much pre-concert excitement there was for a McCartney concert. There was about 13 years between Wings Over America in 1976 and his Flowers in the Dirt tour. The same thing happened in 2002 with the Driving Rain tour. With Linda' s illness there was a decent amount of years between his Off the Ground tour and 2002. I'm sure you will get the newspaper reviews after the show is over. Hopefully, this mini rest will help his voice for your show.

I think they are blase because it is NY/NJ and everybody plays there. When he hits cities where he hasn't been, he gets more media.
-
There's a 2 page interview with Paul in Newsdays Fan Fare section today.
-
It's not in today's Saturday edition. Might it be in Sunday Aug 7th? Or was it in Friday Aug 5th? But thanks so much for the heads up!!!

BJ - he is so over exposed in the US in the major markets and there is little or no excitement about his concerts anymore IMO. I am sure it does not help that his setlist has not been radically changed. I loved the old days when a Paul McCartney concert was an event which is the way it was in 1989 and 2002. His ever constant touring has made him richer and he obviously enjoys it so I guess it will continue. Personally, I get more excited reading news about him making new music and have felt that way for a bunch of years.

Politely disagree. It was major event when he played NYC in 1989 and 2002 and nobody was blase about the concerts.

I looked at online editions on the NY Post, NY Daily News and NY Times and the only mention was in the NY Times listing of concerts playing this week.
