Radio Garden

This website has probably the most intuitive and innovative way of listening to online radio stations worldwide that I've seen so far. No menus, no countries to select. Just make sure you click on "Live" and the radio streams will pop up. Here's the website: http://radio.garden/ The other night I was listening to stations from England, Ireland, Mexico, Iceland (!), Australia and various U.S. and Canadian cities and towns. It's one of those websites where you think you might spend 5 or 10 minutes on but you end up staying over an hour.

Definitely really cool
wound up listening to George Harrison in Romania. Actually found a station in Cuenca Ecuador, a tiny town I've visited before. Trying to get to Antartica now!!!
Love this!!!
-
I'll definitely give it a try - just not tonight/this morning
-
Way Cool!!! Am listening to Hanalei,Hawaii at the moment.
Edit...Just tuned into Saint Helens, Australia and Tina Turner is singing Thunder Dome
And now, Don Henley is singing All She Wants To Do Is Dance

Thanks everybody. SurSteven, it's interesting that you mention Hawaii as I was listening to some stations from there last night along with some from Alaska. Andy_Shofar, no problem. Wait until later.
love2travel, glad you like it. There are loads of European stations to check out as well. BTW the first night I discovered it I was checking out a station in Ohio and they were playing "Ticket To Ride".
-
KenMac it is really addicting...went to all of the places mentioned above and more. It was fun to listen to music in other languages too!
Strangely, when in Antartica, a station from Alaska was playing there... Also zoomed way in, to certain areas, including my house and landmarks in parks, etc. The Chinese stations are blocked, except for one and Hong Kong.

I agree, it is addicting. I've been visiting the website every night checking out different countries. Tonight I'm going to check out the Carribean area, Cuba, Jamaica, etc. then maybe I'll check out a few South American countries. That's odd about Antarctica. I wonder if they have penguins running the station?
Glad you enjoy it and I agree, it's nice to hear the different varieties of music.

What surprises me, is the proportion of American music all over the world!! Not sure if this site is biased to that? Have picked up some police stations and some nice Christian music stations in the US. Heard some soothing pan pipe music in South America... It was really nice if you like that. Lol the Penguins are on the same same wavelength!!! Going to check out some European and Scandinavian music later. Cia? for now...

Just beamed in on Regina, Canada and they're playing Stairway To Heaven Waaaaaaaaaaaaay cool!!! "To Be A Rock And Not To Roll" George Town, Cayman Islands Hot Stuff by Donna Summer is playing

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. To pick up on something that love2travel mentioned, it seems like a lot of the stations, not all of them, play westernized/North American style pop, rock and roll, etc. I'll give you an example of this, a couple of nights ago I was checking out a station in Morocco figuring I'd hear some Moroccan music but what do I hear? A fellow Canadian, Bryan Adams, singing a ballad. I was checking out some Caribbean and South American stations last night and I noticed for the most part their music seems to be more local, for example, Reggae, Ska, Soca as well as various South American styles. I was kind of disappointed with Cuba. Only 2 stations were available. I was hoping to hear some lively Cuban music. Oh well. Glad everybody's enjoying this website. I'll be checking some more South American stations tonight.

Was in Canada and an artist Luc de Larochelli?re came on... wish my French was better... It was a song about Travellers... Probably why it caught my ear lol. I'm listening to his album now, really enjoying it... This is a great fun site!!! Thanks
Even if you don't understand the words, music is so universal, isn't it?
-
It is definitely great! Was listening to various stations in India yesterday. My oldest granddaughter is studying Hindi in College and spent the summer in India following her freshman year. I have a picture of her standing in front of the Taj Mahal.
I am going to send her a link tonight. She'll love it! She is also a big George Harrison fan!

Quite amazing & very addictive
Spent a good deal of time listening or trying to listen to music in the middle of Mexico - mostly semi-desert there - not a lot of strong FM stations.
-
Went to Morraco and Madagascar, Reunion Islands and Indonesia. Some music is so dancey and happy, some seems so serious.

You're welcome.
Yes, it sounds like a cliche, but it really is true that music is the universal language. Thanks for your comments SurSteven and Andy_Shofar. I'm glad everybody's enjoying this website. I was checking out some more European radio stations last night. It's sort of become a personal ritual now to visit this website!
BTW I meant to ask this question, has anybody heard any solo Paul or Wings era music on this website? I mentioned at the start of this thread that I did hear "Ticket To Ride" (Beatles of course) on a station from Ohio but I haven't heard any solo or Wings Paul songs yet.

Finding John Lennon songs randomly...

I get a lot of "station is unreachable". But it sounds like a good idea.
