LONDON TERROR ATTACK

I did check, but I couldn't find a thread on today's terror attack in London/Parliament/Westminster Bridge. What a terrible thing. For those who don't know, a terrorist drove a car down Westminster Bridge--the full length--hitting as many people as he could. He then crashed at the end of it; got out and ran towards Parliament, attacked some more with a huge knife before Police shot him. Parliament was in lock-down until just a few minutes ago. 4 dead and 20 injured so far. My thoughts are with all those affected.

For me, it's eerie that I was just there several months back - right at that location. I recall walking out of the Westminster Underground station and not realizing the big building right in my face was actually Big Ben (until my daughter told me...LOL)...we turned left and crossed that bridge and walked over to the London Eye... Very scary - thoughts and prayers to all those affected

You can't live your life in fear. Then the terrorists win. If you have plans just go and see the sites. Right now, London is probably safer than ever and the odds are in your favor that something else won't happen there. There was a bomb in 2006 in London the month before I took my 19 year old twins. What was I going to do, cancel the trip? No way! You never know what could happen. You could stay home and then get killed in a car accident instead!

100% agree with this. Terrorists and some dictators an heads of countries want to control you using FEAR. When you show fear, they win. Just as a wall, will not keep Mexicans out of our country, terrorist attracts will not stop me from travelling. I admit, when I took a 15 day cruise I had booked for right after the 911 attacks, I was afraid...yet determined not to let it stop me. When we pulled into several ports...we were met at the docks by full bands playing God Bless America. It was very touching. Live your life, we could get hit by a huge comet, or a planet killing pulsar tomorrow...yet no one goes around worrying about that. LIVE LAUGH LOVE ? there are no guarantees for tomorrow. -

If we all were to stop living our lives the way we intend to, then the scum of the earth wins. I wish someone would wipe out all the terrorists for good but since there's not much of a chance of that happening, we all must just live our lives to the fullest. I went to Paris right after Charlie Hebdo. I wasn't at all worried about future attacks, but I was worried that everyone would be paranoid and that the French would use American security techniques that give everyone a false sense of security without actually doing anything. I rarely saw any police anywhere and only saw armed police at the Eiffel Tower. Rather than tiptoe in fear and hide from a bunch of cowards, the people of Paris went to caf?s, ate lots of cheese, read tiny books and lived their lives. That's the best way to give a giant middle finger to a bunch of sociopaths.

I have this fantasy. The Allied coalition fighting the terrorists, will one day swoop down and blast them with a deep sleep gas, knocking everyone out--terrorist and non terrorist alike. Then they scoop up all the known terrorists, and put them on that first one-way rocket trip to mars!
There they can fight each other all they want! -
Seriously, I wish SOMEthing more definitive could be done about these psychopaths.

Terrorism anywhere is horrible. I always wanted to visit Parliament so it is sad it happened in the vicinity, people just trying to enjoy the beauty of London. I am not afraid of Terrorists. You just have to keep on and have no fear. They want us to be afraid, then they win. They will never win.

France had a bomb scare today, I think. False alarm, thank God.
