      Fan4-45years:

Is there a political thread somewhere so I can stay away from it? I'm sick of everyone's "expert" political opinions.

This is the internet. Everyone's an expert on everything. An expert on internet experts told me that on the internet once.

Make yourself a trustworthy person, instead of wasting your time thinking about leaders. They are just as trustworthy as you are, actually.

If I'm as trustworthy as our leaders, I need to change my bank account passwords to something I don't know.

Why do people spend so much time knocking music they don't like, just go to your favorite artists page, instead of artists you don't care for.... The same goes for so called critics?! As far as politics, that's difficult when it's affecting your life and those you love. The racial and bigotry, just can't sit by quietly.

Talking to strangers about politics is a pretty stupid thing to do, when you think about it, but there are some tiny bits that do affect all of our lives. The racism, misogyny and bullying that is sure to increase over the next few years has to be addressed. The worst thing we can do is silently let them spread their hate. Critics, I just don't understand at all. Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach are music critics. Did Sting say that? Someone did. That's a pretty weird job. Imagine being paid to tell people what to like. Then there are the online critics. This is an actual 1 star review of Hamlet, maybe one of the greatest plays ever written, on Amazon. I like but not all enjoyable That's it. That's the entire book review. Look out, New York Times.

With kind, tolerant, and loving spokeswomen/role models like Madonna and Ashley Judd, how can we go wrong? Eh?

This is what bothers me. Have been putting up with this attitude in the US for far too long. The same arguments also apply to racism. It affects your life, the more you are interacting in a predominantly male world. This is some men, not all men. It definitely is not kind, loving nor rational. I agree with Hailey, the worst thing we can do is silently let them spread the hate. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/a-brief-history-of-blatant-sexism-on-cable-news_us_581285f0e4b08fac438fde92#comments

I finally finished reading "Lennon In America" by Geoffrey Guiliano. A friend gave it to me for Crimble. There is some stuff in the book I think is a crock, but everything about Yoko is spot on.

The book trader I go to is featured in our free, local MarketPlace magazine this month. And I'm in complete agreement with their point of view: "As far as I'm concerned, there's a whole lot to be offered by the texture and feel of a real book - the printed page that you can curl up with and read."
