If one only cares about getting a good seat (and doesn't care about the merchandise at all), what would you say is the marginal benefit of going for a silver package ($475) or gold package ($700) as opposed to a regular $250 ticket? Btw, this is for a stadium concert. Any suggestions or comments about past experience are appreciated. Thanks! Rodrigo

I think the VIP tickets are easier to get. But all the Silver tickets that I've pulled up seem too far from the stage for the price. A Gold ticket, which I've done a few times, gets you closer to the stage on the floor. I've had 6th, 7th and 13th row with gold ticket and all were excellent seats So, it depends where you want to sit and how close you want to be to the stage. Floor or stands. Stands might be too far from the stage in a stadium.

Gold ticket at a stadium gig isn't all it's cracked up to be. I've only done it once, at Nationals Park 2013. I believe it was $500 at the time, and we had tenth row tickets that looked good and sounded good on the seating chart. However, they were farther out to the side than the seating chart appeared because of the spread of the stadium's field. I don't think I'll do them again outdoors however, I would definitely like to try it for an arena show, as the floor is much more "contained" there. The silver packages I've pulled up on sales in the past were often the same or even worse in some cases than the $250 standard floor seating, so I've obviously never felt impelled to buy them.

It really all depends on what you consider "a good seat." What's the furthest row you'd be willing to sit in for the price ($250 - $700)? It's definitely all about the seat - not the merchandise. Unless you're doing a Hot Sound package or above to get the soundcheck.

At last show I went to in Detroit,I had sound check package. My husband found out he could go a few weeks before the show . I was surprised to pull up a silver package for him. It was the last seat in the second row. He had a good view of piano area... when the camera/ video boom wasn't in his way.

I go back so far,I'm in front of me

Thanks everyone for their advice. I ended up buying a Gold Package for $700, A4 row 13, seats 21 and 22 (seating chart: http://m.mlb.com/cardinals/tickets/info/mccartney#vip-packages)..) I hope it's a good seat for that amount of money. Rodrigo

One thing I've discovered with Seattle and Portland shows... about a week before the show they can no longer sell the VIP packages so any of those seats dedicated to those packages get released for the top tier pricing. Someone posted in the Portland thread that they ended up getting 4, 5, 6th row tickets by waiting this way. But, you have to be willing to take a risk

I've been tempted in the past...but too risky for me

Have others had a Gold VIP seat? I hesitated during the pre-sale but after much thought, bought one. Not exactly as close as I would like but it's in Section 2, seat 3. So glad I had a center floor seat for Nationals Stadium in Washington as the place was enormous and the stands were so far away. That was a Stub Hub ticket . Just looking for reassurance that you get your money's worth with Gold VIP cause $700 IS a lot of money.

What row were you in? Gold VIP sometimes starts pretty far back depending on the demand for Hot Sound Package.

For the show at Nationals Stadium in D.C., I must have been 20-some rows back but I had an aisle seat. Definitely cannot afford a Hot Sound Package ($1,600) for the show at the Verizon Center. I'm back in Row Q for Gold VIP for $700. About 17 rows back.I'm thinking it is similar to what I once had at Madison Square Garden and it was quite good.

I have done the Gold Vip for the last two shows I have attended (Memphis and Little Rock). I ended up on the 7th row dead center for both of them. Well worth the money as you really have a great seat. Not sure I would do that for a stadium show though

I'm pretty sure these will be great seats. To me, being center is best, and A4 is center! Good luck and hope you enjoy the show!!

You should be fine! For the stadium show in D.C. 2013, I was center and back in Row 32. I could see the stage perfectly as I was on the aisle.
