New Stage Design 2016 (SPOILER ALERT)
-
Okay- Just thought I'd open a thread about the new stage elements in the upcoming tour. Did this for Out There. So far, from soundcheck pics, it appears the rising platform is back. Buttt..... There appears to be some sort of video screen hanging over the stage, where the front rigging is (in between the two big speaker stacks). It is the length of the stage. It looks to me like a miniature version of the video screen U2 used last year. I'm going to place a bet and say it lowers at some point onto the stage, and it is a see-through screen, like what Nine Inch Nails had. Or, maybe it will lower when he is on the riser to provide a nice backdrop. This is getting interesting...

I thought the video screen looked different in a picture I saw, but I thought it was just me

The traditional one at the back of the stage does appear to be smaller, yes. There is something going on up top.

It looks like what Billy Joel uses...or used to use at least.

That's it...saw that at Nationals Park. I think Billy used it a bit before that tour together.

I was at Nat's park too for that one. I also saw them indoors in Charlotte that year. The only difference between the two shows was in DC, there was also LED behind the band in addition to above and there wasn't in the arenas.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I see multiple screens in the ceiling. He is probably going to have the same design as Nine Inch Nails because they share the same creative director, LeRoy Bennett. https://www.instagram.com/p/BEKdTijr-st/ http://www.leroybennett.com/the-artist/

Really disappointed he's kept the platform in front....

it was a screen to make the stage appear smaller. They had a smaller drum kit for abe nearer the front. Made it more intimate to look like the early days

I have a picture now, but no idea how to post it here!

I absolutely LOVED the new stage design last night...with video being able to be projected along the "ceiling of the stage". I will try to post a picture if I can figure it out. Can't figure it out, but you can see it on the videos on the Fresno thread. It reminded me of the Beatles album cover "Something New".

Paul's 'magic piano' is electric again (like in 1993 year).

Oh wow! You are correct!
Looks very cool!

I didn't get too many shots of it, but the screens added dimension to a few visuals. This one created a house effect.

What song was that "house background" for?

In spite of all the danger???

For the "early" songs. In Spite of All the Danger. Love Me Do. I don't think it's anyone's house, is it? It's not 20 Forthlin Rd.
