As usual, here's my write-up of the Hershey show last night, including the best of the pics I managed to take. I hope you enjoy it, whoever reads it! --> http://rnrchemist.blogspot.com/2016/07/rockshow-part-2-paul-mccartney-live-at.html

I enjoyed your write up very much! Hershey Park certainly went all out. For fans spending the day at the amusement park and the concert, what a great day off they must have had.

Hi all. I am the teacher Paul brought up on stage. I won't bore anyone with the details. It was, however, a dream come true to get to meet him. Since I went to the show solo, I didn't have anyone with me to take pictures. So... if anyone on here happened to take one that you wouldn't mind sharing, my email is vicks30@yahoo.com. Thanks

___________________________________________________ Just watched Yesterday performed in Hershey. Normally I have heard this iconic song (deservingly so) so many times that I just skip over any Yesterday videos. Since it was the 1st song, I couldn't help but watch it. What I really liked is how Paul's "older" voice works so well with the lyrics that I almost prefer it to earlier versions when Paul was obviously much younger. I like the way that he allows the audience to just take over the singing at certain brief but critical moments where he might personally struggle reaching. I found it very effective. Sometimes I would prefer just hearing Paul and not the audience but in this case and at his advanced age, I found the mix perfect.

OK. For those who are interested, here's my story... I went to see Paul McCartney in Cincinnati last week. I took the same sign I have taken to the previous 8 concerts. "I'm a teacher. Please sign me 4 show & tell." Paul read three signs out loud. Mine was one of them. People congratulated me, but I didn't dare get my hopes up. At the end of the show, two of the three signs made it up on stage. Mine was the one that did not. I decided to go to the Hershey show and made the same sign again. Only, I added the words "THIS time". My seat was in Row 9- Brian's side- 2 Sears away from the center section. Prior to the show, Brian Riddle, Paul's head of security saw it and I explained to him what happened in Cincinnati and joked that I was heartbroken. He giggled, wrote what it said on a piece of paper and walked away. During the show, at the regular time, Paul picked a few signs and read them aloud. Again, he read mine. Again, I didn't get my hopes up... too much. The show continued. The band left the stage. The band came back for the encore. During the encore, Paul's guy came to me and said, "Get your sign and come with me." I was in disbelief! I grabbed my sign, looked at the girl who was next to me (a complete stranger) and told her there was a camera in my bag... take pictures! I was led backstage with a teenage girl with a sign. She went on stage first. I have NO idea what was said. Paul then motioned for me. I walked up to him and he read my sign. He asked me my name & where I was from. He asked what age kids I taught. I told him 12-year olds. He then asked if they were taller than me. (I'm 5 ft tall.) I told him almost all of them are. He asked me if I was back in school. I told him in 23 days. He signed my shoulder. I also have a little heart on my wrist. I hugged him and then left the stage. Surprisingly, I was able to keep my composure. I *hope* I didn't look & sound like a complete goober. When I was being led back to my seat, it started to hit me, and I shed a happy tear or two. Only a handful of people I know can understand how this feels. I have loved The Beatles since I was 12. They have really been a bit of an obsession. I imagine the other kids thought I was weird. In high school, everyone was listening to Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Prince, etc. I was collecting Beatle memorabilia and listening to Paul- Press to Play, Pipes of Peace, Give My Regards to Broad Street. I have been to Liverpool twice- but this experience FAR exceeds that. This was truly a dream come true. It was just a few minutes, but it meant the WORLD to me. Meeting Paul was something I ALWAYS wanted, but absolutely NEVER thought it would happen.

Vicki, how did your tattoos turn out? Were you able to keep the ink from washing off or smearing? By the way, I am an inch shorter than you! I have second row center for the two D.C. shows so I should be able to see the stage. I paid much more than I would have liked and will be making payments for quite some time but I have waited since 1964 to have seats like this. I am a retired secretary and have thought of making a sign to tie in with "Temporary Secretary" like I am strong and sweet and I'll fit on your knee but am too shy to actually do it.

                                  Congratulations, Vicky!! Amazing isn't it??

Vicki, how did your tattoos turn out? Wow, Paul drew a heart on your wrist! I hope you made it to the tattoo shop with the ink still intact.

Thanks

How could you possibly think you could "bore" us with the details??? Of course we want to know/hear/see all the details!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone here at the message board! We are so very pleased for you! We watched your moment with Paul on YouTube - wonderful!!! You have received the gift of a lifetime! ? Your dream has come true, treasure the moment always! ? Once you have recovered from the excitement and the tattoo, please share pictures! Well done!

THANK YOU, (((((PAUL)))))!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

yes vicks30, of course we want to hear!! and I was gonna say, he read the same sign at Cincinnati as well!! I was starting to wonder because there were TWO who had the gender reveal signs at Cincy -- it was starting to seem like too much internet buzz was going on or something, w everybody having the exact same signs! so, did you get them tattooed? are you going to?!! and how did you get such close tickets for Hershey, did you wait till after the Cincy concert or was it planned out anyway to go to both?

The Hershey show wasn't planned. After getting SOOOO close in Cincinnati, I just felt compelled to go. I looked on Stub Hub for good, close single tickets. I knew my husband was not going to like it... one bit... so I kept watching until a row 9 - 2 seats from the center section dropped in price. And I still almost didn't do it because Cincinnati was a 5 hour trip one way, and Hershey would be nearly 7 hours one way. When the price dipped below face value, my finger hit the button. I did get the signature tattoo on my shoulder and the heart on my wrist. I feel kind of awful for "wasting" the signature on my wrist, but it was rather large, and TWICE I told him I just wanted a heart... but he didn't listen...LOL.
