Poor ticket sales in Germany

Not with all those people buying VIPs with early entry...
So you suppose that there are 400 ppl who buy vip ticket in each show?
Yes I suppose in Holland i made it in the second row because someone was already there .. but this is mere unluck, it all depends on where you end up running

The venues are waaaaaaaaaaaay too big and the ticket prices waaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive... Bought a ticket for Düsseldorf (~150?) and it's not even a seat in the first block (that would be 233? (!!!) and even those were sold out almost immediately) This is only my second time seeing Paul Live (first one being in Amsterdam 2015 which was way cheaper), but I'm still not very enthusiastic about that concert. Right now I just feel being ripped of for buying overpriced tickets for seats that are god knows how far away from the stage . I mean it's a ****ing football stadium.. I know there are cheaper tickets, but they're so far away, they can't be any good
: This is definitely my last PMC concert, at least when it costs more than 100 bucks or something...
Why are you not very enthusiastic about the concert in Amsterdam last year? I was at the first concert and I loved it. It was a good concert and the Ziggo Dome was allright for me. I bought tickets for Düsseldorf too, in block B. It is a pity that I couldn't afford a ticket in block A. Yes the prices are very high. I always wonder who can afford the Hot seat tickets or VIP tickets. ?500 or more for a concert!

Okay, so what do you think is a better strategy? Coming very early and then obviously having to go to bathroom when you're finally inside, or coming a little later but running straight to the front? I would kill to get to 1st-3rd row and i need a plan.
-
Strategy is go with someone that can save your place or if you're on your own make friends with people close to you so they'll save your place
I go to the bathroom about 30 minutes before the doors open. Run to the front and wait it out the rest of the night. Of course not everyone can do that so, if you really have to go once you're inside, have someone save your place - but remember it will take a while to get in and out of the crowd and expect long queues for the toilets. Also, once you get on the floor section give yourself as much room as possible - I sit down and stretch my legs out or stand with my legs spread a little apart. Slowly the crowd will push forward and you'll have less and less room. Imagine if you start standing shoulder to shoulder you have no way to move and you'll get incredibly tired, hot and annoyed. Good luck!!

Okay, that sounds like a plan, thank you.

Petra,....thanks for your feedback...but isnt it Pauls final decision how expensive tickets will be? Normal music fans really say he cant get enough the dagobert duck of music biz.... ð??? what do you think promoters will do when half stadium is empty lets say 6 weeks prior the event? Do they dare that macca plays in front of an half empty venue? 2003 he already failed to sell out gelsenkirchen arena then promoter moved to arena in oberhausen telling public he needs pa equipment for the huge rome event. Which was nonsense but ok they couldnt say the truth that just 12k of 60k tickets were sold....well lets see....
As I said, the artist has to agree to the ticket prices proposed by the promoter, however the promoter will try to explain that price x is necessary to cover all cost, etc. I don't think Paul himself will charge more in Germany than in France, Holland or Scandinavia, but he'll probably lower his prices a little for Prague and Spain. IF too few tickets are sold like in Gelsenkirchen, the promoter can move the event to a smaller venue. They have to tell Paul the truth as weekly ticket sales are communicated to the artist's management anyway. Look at Munich, the whole arena floor seems to be sold out. There are a lot of seats in the stalls still, but I think too many tickets have been sold to move this concert to the Olympiahalle now. The promoter will fill up the empty seats with giveaways and competition winners. It'll look fine on the day. This is what I think anyway. With Dusseldorf I am not so sure, could be moved to Westphalenhalle or something.....hopefully sales will improve Remember last year the second Amsterdam show sold badly and they gave away 2 tix for the price of 1 to fill up the venue/. On the night is was full.
Westfalenhalle in Dortmund?

By the way I saw a promotion in our tv newspaper today... I don't know when his happenend the last time.
Last year there were national newspaper adverts in the UK to coincide with the announcements of the London, Birmingham and Liverpool dates. This was followed a week later by another advert showing the same dates but showing that the Liverpool date had Sold Out and an extra date had been added for London. Another week later there was a third advert is the same papers specifically for the two London shows only (with a different picture) advising that 23rd May date was Sold Out but tickets remained for the 24th May gig.

were the shows sold out at the end? It seems that the shows will not sold out this year. There are still enough "cheaper" tickets avaiable. I dicussed the situation with my wife (which is macca fan like me). We think that the often used strong argument of the 'first timers' is changing to smth. like a fairytale. I mean the so called first times had already several chances for Paul McCartney concert. Surely there a further potential first timers but they don't like to pay too much. In my environment there a lots of persons with such an opinion. Don't like to discuss the setlist here ... but this could be a part oft the reason that other "fans" don't buy a ticket; cause they already know what they will get... What's about all the other tour stops is there any other location with poor ticket demand?

By 'I'm still not very enthusiastic about that concert' I was refering to the upcoming concert, not the one in the Netherlands (which was really good indeed, quite a bit cheaper and in a very cool location, I LOVE the Ziggo Dome)

ops:
ops: what do u consider wayyyyy to high priced? the most expensive tix prices are in the States & VIP prices are higher this year....
-
Well, in my humble opinion everything above 100 is overpriced. And the 233 Euro tickets are just a disgusting ripoff, almost as bad as tickets for the Stones.... Well, at least these tickets also function as train tickets if you can take comfort in that
