Great video and I am so happy for the Australian fans. Since 1990, I been to about a dozen shows in the US (Philadelphia, Atlantic City and Washington DC) and not one time did Paul play Mull of Kintyre. In fact, I'm not sure he has ever played "Mull" at "any" US show. If that is true, it is mind blowing to me considering the staggering number of US appearances over the years.
I realize that "Mull" wasn't a big hit in the US but it was a worldwide hit in just about every English speaking country. In fact it was a #1 hit in most of them. Of course, as Macca fans, we also know it was the biggest selling single of all time in Britain until it was overtaking by "Do They Know It was Christmas".
Any theories as to why Paul has refused to play it in the US. Just crazy in my opinion.
I think it's because wherever they play MOK they need to hire a local Bagpipe band to come onstage for that one song. The U.S. is not known for Bagpipe bands, except maybe for Boston. I think I recall reading he's played it there once. But it's more of a British or Commonwealth tradition, which is why they get it in Canada and Australia.

So where's all the eye witness reports from Aussies of the Oz concerts by Paul and band ? And pictures and reported setlists during sound checks as well as the show?? Drives me nuts wondering about all this and wanting to see this !!

Your answer makes the most sense of all the theories I have heard over the years although I would bet that there are more Bagpipe bands spread out all over the US than we think. Considering all the US cities that Paul has played since 2002 (large, medium and even small ones) you would think that "Mull" would have been played in the US at least sporatically over the years. Personally I think it goes over very well "live" because Paul can still sing it pretty well. The other reason is that it has that "signature" song feel to it almost as much as many of his Beatle signature tunes. It's a great "sing-along" song that fans (even casual ones) can get into very easily. In my opinion and since about 2010 Paul's concerts have been "short" on creating a fair musical "balance" of his entire career considering the Beatles split in 1070 and Paul has been active musically ever since. Not enough very good to great Post Beatles songs in the setlist and "Mull" is just another example.

He didn't play "Mull of Kintyre" in Tokyo, of course, but he could have used a taiko and sho band.
But I think Mull did even worse in Japan than it did in the US.

Yes, please! It'd be great if they could mash up the two Melbourne or Sydney dates (obviously I'm biased towards the former). They could use the best performance of two for the non-repeated songs and you get 5 or so extras!
