Yes, but there wasn't much to it. Some standard questions (i.e., who is your favorite bass player? (James Jamerson)), talked about Wimbledon champion being British, the Olympics. Most embarrassing moment was when the interviewer had the crowd wish Paul's father a happy birthday (along with Ringo).
:thanks veggieburgher, I wanted to hear the interview, but I missed it. It sounds like it wasn't that great.

It is because of Canada's Scottish heritage outside of Quebec. Michelle normally is reserved for Quebec so it was unusual for both to be played.

What an amazing night! My first ever Paul concert and it was unbelievable. Just like luckiest1paul stated in her post, I was blown away by how great his voice sounded, steady & strong throughout the show, and his energy!! He was all over the place, having fun with the crowd...I can't believe this guy is 71!! I have always loved Paul & admired him since I was 13 years old, but watching him perform has brought a whole new level of respect and admiration...he genuinely loves what he does and seems grateful to be able to share it with us. I love how he took the time to acknowledge the fans, several times, especially the ones in the 'nosebleed' section, waving or giving them a thumbs-up. Aside from his typical "give me a minute to drink it all in" moment, there were a few times he just stopped after a song and stood there smiling, adsorbing the cheering and applause...it was nice to see. I have seen many Paul concert DVD/You Tube clips, I kinda knew the typical songs/stories he tells, but honestly nothing prepares you in how you feel when you are standing in the same room with him and are hearing those songs/stories, by the man himself. I just remember thinking, this is not a tribute band, this the an actual Beatle singing these legendary Beatle/Wings songs that HE actually wrote...it's over whelming if you stop and think about it. Not to put anyone down (and this is just my opinion), but I have never understood when people on this board complain about the set-list or the same stories, now that I have seen Paul live I REALLY don't understand it, I mean do you know how lucky we are that he's still performing and putting on a kick-ass 3 hr show, with no break, at the age of 71?? And people have the nerve to complain... I just think we should appreciate and recognize how lucky we are as Paul fans to have Paul with us, making us happy with his shows/music, because one day we won?t be so lucky and we will miss him. For me, Paul gave me a happy night to remember, and I know he did for others as well, and for that I will forever be thankful.

I sure agree with your comments. He is wonderful, no matter how many times we see or hear it. Thank goodness there are always 1st time show-goers to really remind us how lucky we are to still have him up there!!!

Fantastic show! I thought Paul sounded great last night. His voice was even better than when I saw him in Montreal two years ago. Loved hearing Mull of Kintyre again. Thanks for an incredible show Paul!

Everything you write is so true - we are all extremely lucky to see this man perform his own songs and be a part of rock history. We (the fans) are also a huge part of his life! He's doing all of these shows because he enjoys our enthusiasm. I can't wait to relive all of your experiences in Boston tomorrow. -

Thanks for the great review! I love to read the concert reports from people who are seeing him for the first time. You can always tell who the first-timers are as they are leaving the concert because you overhear them saying, "That was the BEST concert I've ever seen!" - and they seem surprised!

The show in Ottawa was the best of the 5 times I have seen Macca and the others were all great as well. The new songs incorporated into the set were very well done and some interesting choices like All Together Now and Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite were cool to hear and also Another Day. His voice sounded incredible and as usual went three solid hours without so much as a sip of water. The band were smokin' hot and were just solid as ever. Don't miss this tour, it is well worth every penny you pay. I think Paul has lots left in the tank and I wouldn't be surprised to see him carry on touring for as long as he enjoys it and his health remains good.

Also Paul McCartney performed the original "Happy Birthday" (also known as "Happy Birthday to You") written in 1893 by Patti & Mildred J. Hill for Ringo Starr's birthday after "Maybe I'm Amazed" and before "I've Just Seen a Face." I was surprised that Paul wouldn't have done his "Birthday" instead. I am guessing he choose not to because he added both "Michelle" for the Francophone and "Mull of Kintyre" for the Anglophones in the Ottawa crowd. Due to the addition of all three of those songs and including the Jimi Hendrix "Foxey Lady" jam at the end of "Let Me Roll It," that was the most songs I've ever seen McCartney perform at one concert 42!

Agreed, that is the reason Paul McCartney performs "Mull of Kintyre" in Canada. The Ottawa crowd was lucky though as they not only got "Mull of Kintyre for the Anglophones in the Canadian Capital Region, they also got "Michelle" for the Francophone in the region. It felt like a hybrid of a Toronto concert with "Mull of Kintyre" for the English speaking fans and a Montreal/Quebec City concert with "Michelle" for the French speaking fans! Though don't tell the Ottawa fans it was had influences of a Toronto Paul gig, they may boo! It was so funny that the eighty-one year old lady that came up to on stage to hug Paul in the encore in between "Hi, Hi, Hi" and "Get Back." She told Paul on the microphone she is from Toronto and a good chunk of the crowd booed! Paul told those who booed "You're bad people!" Then he said "She's from Ottawa!"

Mull of Kintyre, in my opinion, is truly one of Paul's "signature songs". The song is so great (lyrics and melody) that it should be played at practicallly every Paul gig (just like Blackbird, Yesterday, Hey Jude, Let It Be etc) no matter what country he is in. Yes, it didn't become a hit in the US but that is because the idiotic US radio programmers at the time chose to play the B side (Girls School) instead. That's the only reason it didn't become a massive hit. Basically no one in the US heard it. I believe that if Paul would have sang Mull consistently on every tour, it would have the same status in the US as his famous Beatles' songs. Mull of Kintyre is that good! And judging by the U-tube clips I have seen, Paul still can do a very good job vocally on Mull. I'm hoping that he does Mull in Washington DC (my next show) but I don't have my hopes up judging by the last recent tours. Anyway, I'm very happy for all the people in Canada that get to hear it.

Thanks for your happiness for us here in the Great White North that get to hear Paul McCartney perform "Mull of Kintyre" when he performs in Ontario or in our Maritimes. I completely agree with you that Paul should play "Mull of Kintyre" more as it would become as legendary in his live shows as that of his greatest songs in his canon, like that of "Yesterday," "Hey Jude," "Let it Be," "Band on the Run" and many, many more. That said, I hope one day you are able to travel up to a McCartney concert in Toronto or maybe again in Ottawa and see "Mull of Kintyre." My home province of Ontario is a beautiful place with a lot to see and experience. To increase the profile of "Mull of Kintyre" Paul should release a compilation CD of all of the one off songs he's performed at various gigs over the past decade plus with his current touring band! An album compiling "Mull of Kintyre" from Toronto or Ottawa, "Michelle" from Quebec City or Montreal or Ottawa, a "Hippie Hippie Shake" and "In Liverpool" from Liverpool, "Cosmically Conscious" from NYC, "Hitch Hike" from Detroit, "Cut Me Some Slack" from NYC, "Midnight Special" from bonnaroo and so on.

I know!! I felt so bad for her!! Poor lady!! Paul innocently asked her where she is from, he didn't know she would get booed; so u can tell Paul tried to stick up for her...I had to laugh when he said, "You're bad people" At first when he read the sign and he asked, "should I give her a hug?" and we all cheered, but he didn't do it! I thought, "huh? why didn't Paul give her a hug?" but he saved it for later
I love the sign that asked (I think) "are you my grandma's boyfriend" so funny. 
Did you see Rusty making Paul laugh during, I think it was, Live and Let Die? when he was falling to the ground and then got back up and dusted himself off? I loved watching him laugh with his band, they are great.
