April 27, 1993 was a fun night. Spent it at the Liberty Bowl Stadium with my tennis bud Rodney Young and his wife Christy. 10th row seats right in front of Paul McCartney. Good memories of a great concert

Carl Perkins and McCartney jammed before the show backstage.

Ahh man that is some great footage!

Despite McCartney's mega-stardom, vast wealth, and hugely succesful career in music, you can see in this clip that CP is a hero of his, someone that he idolised as a youth and probably still looks up to as a musician.

          Thanks for posting!

I saw this tour in London when I was 15. Great memories...

Did you ever see this footage of Paul and Carl Perkins? (filmed at the same time as above video)   Always gets me choked up when Carl tells the story of how he wrote "My Old Friend."  I think it definitely came from John!

Wichita, July 19, 2017 - sign read by Paul

For me it was 4/17/93 - Anaheim Stadium. For some reason it was the only major West Coast date on the New World Tour.  (Earth Day concert at Hollywood Bowl the day before excepted) . But a friend of mine in Orange Co. bought me a reseller ticket for $60.00 I recall (God bless you, and RIP Paulene). This was still years before the Internet. And I made a drive from Medford, Oregon, where I lived, over 600 miles to So. Cal.  I was so excited I was going to see Paul. It had been 16 years since I saw Wings Over America, and I could not afford to see him on the 1989 World Tour. I spent a lovely day in Huntington Beach with my friend and her family before driving to Anaheim Stadium in my 1992 Hyundai. I had a seat in the very front of the Upper Deck. I had not been to a stadium concert in several years, and the technology had advanced so much. The stage set-up was mind-blowing. 60 foot high video screens on both sides. Video across the top and behind the band. And the sound was immaculate. You could hear every note being played by Paul and Co.!  Lady Macca,  Wix, McIntosh, Stuart, and Cunningham! An amazing show, incredible set-list. New album Off The Ground, still a favorite of mine. It was a beautiful night in Southern California. I drove back to Oregon and my life at the time with a buzz for many days. I still remember the wonderful feeling of being SO LUCKY to do this in my life!

I saw him in Charlotte NC which was the last show of the US tour and it was televised by FOX.  The song "Robbie's Bit" which was on "Paul Is Live" was from that show and was used to fill time during commercial break - lol. That tour was pretty cool because he did play a lot of songs from OTG and most of theose songs got decent reception from the crowd.

Was that the one where he played "Peace in the Neighbourhood" right after announcing that the Rodney King police had just been convicted?

A great tour. I was 18 and saw him on successive nights at Earl’s Court in London. I got a coach from Liverpool and after going all around the world ended up in London about 6 hours later. After the concert I got the coach home to Liverpool.

Slept rough at the train station as everything was closed, got the first train home when they started up,  got showered then got the short train back to Liverpool where I got that coach again and another dreaded 6 hour drive to London. People on the coach thought I was mad doing it on successive days.

If I had some more time to spend, then I guess I'd be with you my friend.

Why in the world didn’t you just stay in London overnight?  Btw, when I was in London in 2011 I stayed at a hotel very near the Earl’s Court tube station. That’s where they have a mock-up of the TARDIS from Doctor Who!

Memorial Day 1993, Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City:  60,000 fans screaming their collective heads off.  Several memories of this show.  First, the great responses to the new songs; especially Biker Like an Icon and C'mon People.  And when he opened the encore with "Kansas City", well the place went delirious!!  Absolutely bonkers!!  What a night!

"If you want the Beatles, go see Wings"-George Harrison 1974

"This is for all the Wings fans!" - McCartney introducing "1985" for the first time on American soil (Phoenix 2010)

It's not a mock up of a Police box but was a full functioning one for the use of the public and police officers throughout th elate 1990 and fell into disuse in the early 2000s

It was originally intened to be the first of many boxes returned to the London streets but a court case around the copyright of the box (brought by the Mteroploitan Police against the BBC) saw this plan abandoned when the BBC won the court case.

Saw him in Milwaukee that tour.  Pouring rain.  Played a ton of new songs which is good, though I am not a big fan of that album.  Voice was perfect, good crowd considering the weather.
