Female raccoon climbs 25 story building in downtown St. Paul tuesday to see if Gideon had checked back in to help with good Rocky's revival. And yes, he had!!!

My grandmother's brother's great granddaughter who was born in the year that Rocky was recorded and released, searched our family history back to us being related to a dynamic Amish Preacher named Gideon. So, I can verify along with Rockee the female raccoon, that Gideon actually did check back in to help with Good Rocky's Revival!!

The Black Hills - which have never in the history of the universe been called the Black Mountain Hills - are on the western end of South Dakota. That's at least a 10 hour drive to St Paul, and has to be a pretty long walk for a raccoon.

Maybe he's ignorant of how important the gold mining was to the history of the Black Hills, the Lakota, Custer and all of that, which seems unlikely if he's singing about the Black mining hills of Dakota. I meant he he had no clue whether it should be “mining” or “mountain” hills. That specific line. You notice he mentioned Arkansas?! Lol!
