The White Album keeps growing in stature over time. Song for song, it's their best album hands down.

I hope we get the complete Esher sessions.  The stripped down Good Night before George Martin ruined the song would be the worth the price of admission alone.

I think the only flaw with the album is the ending is a letdown. Revolution 9 was a cool concept , but did it have to be 8 minutes?? John could have gotten his message across and make it much more listenable if it was edited to 3 minutes. Then, instead of the horrible orchestra production, a simple beautful Good Night with harmonies would have made a perfect closer. I can't believe John gave the thumbs up to the final version.  My guess is he didn't care or want to be bothered.

Song for song I agree it is their best.  And every bit of it is as applicable today as it was 50 years ago...addresses all the issues of the day, which aren't that different now.

The White Album at 50: The Beatles' Sprawling Masterpiece, by the Numbers

The album that nearly tore the Beatles apart sounds just as enthralling half a century later.

Listening to this now. Had to get the stream before my physical copy.

                      Simply brilliant... man, the extras!

I don't want to open up old wounds, but listening to Rocky Raccoon..... I was 'Team Mountain', as per the official lyrics.... don't know if it is my imagination, but this new remix.... well, it certainly sounds like 'mining'.

I think we might have our answer.... finally!.... I am conceding.... it is 'mining'.

This album is just the most generous offering of all the releases.

                      Brilliant!

I agree on all accounts. Some of these songs sound so clear. And as far as Rocky...Nancy already conceded a few weeks ago in another thread. LOL!

The original 1968 release, John Lennon suggested numbers on the album

John was a bunch of zeros follow by the number 1

Paul was a bunch of zeros follow by the number 4

What numbers  we’re selected by Ringo and George?

I say George took a bunch of zeros follow by the number 3 because I bet he thought this was odd.
