I'm thinking the US isn't going to get spoiled with 20 dates this year. I swore last year I was only going to go to three shows (after doing 9 in 2013); but I wound of doing eight as you can never get enough Paul! With that being said, should I hit up Firefly or Lollapalooza-never been to either but am leaning on doing one of them. thanks board!

That's a lot of times....and I thought seeing 15 times total in my life was good, although more than half was during 89/90 tour when tickets were something like $36 + fees....nowadays, I catch him once a tour, when he swings near by Boston But to answer your question, do you live closer to Chicago or Dover, DE?

Keep in mind that Lollapalooza is already sold out - though you can find single day passes on the secondary market for about $150. Firefly only has regular 4-day passes at $299 still available.

I'm a jersey boy so Delaware is closer but there are no hotels available. I am doing the Grateful Dead shows at Soldier Field 4th of July weekend.

I don't know much about Firefly but my guess is that Lolla is a lot bigger in terms of crowd size, so if that has any bearing on your decision...also you may want to look into Chicago hotels now; even tho the downtown area has lots of them, the ones nearest to the park are probably already sold out for Lolla or close to it, and/or the rates will already have been jacked up.

I wouldn't be caught dead at either festival. Festivals are for the young who have a lot of stamina and tolerance for heat, crowds and general admission.

That applies to me as well - give me a nice venue where I can get in, watch the show, then leave with as little difficulty as possible

I'd say maybe 1-2 cities per festival. Firefly, likely NYC. Lolla, maybe Cleveland. Doubt we're getting a lot of shows. Out of all honesty, you think he'll be good next year? At 74?? Vocally and energy wise? I think this may be it.

                    7/15/11- Yankee Stadium
                    6/8/13- Barclays Center
                    7/5/14- Times Union Center
                    8/7/16- MetLife Stadium
                    9/15/17- Madison Square Garden

                    Thank you Paul!

Neil Diamond is 74 and he is on a 74 show world tour right now (which I've caught twice already) Frankie Valli is 80 and he is the Energizer Bunny when it comes to touring. I think Paul will be fine-he takes care of himself it seems. I think I decided that I will go to Chicago for Lolla-go to the park in an area where it's not to crowded and enjoy just "Another Day"

good luck finding that non-crowded spot There are two main stages, one at each end of the field...

You might want to consider weather. Not sure of the typical weather forecast for DE in July, but Chicago on July 31 is guaranteed to be hot and humid. Plan for the worst - likely in the 90s with humidity.

Dover, DE is close to Baltimore, Washington DC, and Philly....whatever the July weather in those places, that's what you can expect in Dover. And the OP is from Jersey...so I think they are familiar with it

I know everywhere is hot, but I have no clue how humid it gets in those parts to be honest. Chicago's humidity is brutal.

I would definitely not want to be in that crowd...in Chicago...during the Summer. That does not look like fun to me at all. No way, forget about it!

I saw on the Lolla website that tickets (electronic wristbands) are non-transferable. It mentions if you buy from third party website (stubhub) they are invalid. I may now wait for the Live Earth announcement. Rumor is The Rolling Stones, Sir Paul among others on 6/18 at Metlife (Giants Stadium)
