What is the youngest age you would take your child to a Macca concert?

I was offered a chance to see The Beatles when I was 10, and my parents would not let me go because they said I was too young. I did not think so and I did not agree with them. I would let a 10 year old see Paul with parents or adult supervision.

All depends on the particular child. You probably would know the best as a parent. Just fix proper ear protection. Not that McCartney's concerts are so loud - even less so in seating venues... - but still volumes like that could be very uncomfortable for a young 'un.

A couple of friends (husband and wife) will take their 6-year-old daughter to one of Paul's concerts next month. They were going to stay far away from the stage, so I offered to take care of her if I get to the rail/grid, just 7 or 8 feet away from the stage. But then I thought: wouldn't the loud noise of a 3-hour rock concert damage her ears? And what about the fire/heat/bright lights during "Live And Let Die" and other songs? Perhaps I should cancel that invitation, I don't want to be responsible for possible health problems that she might develop due to the above reasons. Any thoughts?

Isn't that a SRO concert? I would NEVER take a 6 year old child that close to the stage-between the pyros, speakers and most of all the crush of people trying to get closer to the stage-could be dangerous and very scary for her. I'd cancel that invite, if it were me-too dangerous for a little girl...

What's a SRO concert? You're right, it's not a good idea. I'll talk to the parents later.

I was 13 when I went to my first Paul concert in 2002. Of course I still have a vivid memory of when Paul came to perform in Minneapolis back in 1993 when I was 4. My mom said I was too young to go so she didn't take me with her. Broke my heart. I literally chased her car down the street when she left for the concert that night. All I wanted was to go see Paul sing Hope of Deliverance and Biker Like an Icon.

Taking my son to see Paul this summer. He'll be a few weeks shy of turning 7. We've got big ole' ear protection headphones for him and we're sitting in the stands at a stadium, where it's usually never too loud. I would have waited until he was older but the truth is, I really want my boy to see Paul live in concert and (as much as I hate to say this) there is just no guarantee that Paul will still be doing these shows when my son is older, say 13 or 14 years old. I mean, Paul will be 71 in June.... I can't imagine him doing big stadium rock concerts until he's 80. Frankly, I hope he proves me wrong!!

Took my daughter to see Paul at MSG back in 1989 when she was 8 years old. Got yelled at by some people who said I shouldn't have brought her because they wanted to smoke(the jazzie kind) and felt funny doing it with a young child around. Didn't stop some people though because my daughter did ask what is that funny smell. But regardless, she had a great time and has accompanied me on most tours since.

You were honestly that big of a fan when you were 4? That's right around the time I started listening to the Beatles, but I had no idea about Biker Like An Icon till I was probably 14. And you remember chasing the car as it left? I don't think I remember anything from when I was four. Impressive. I do remember back in 2002 when it was rumored Paul would be touring again. We were living in Billings Montana where I grew up, and I knew if Paul played in Denver we could drive there. Any other big city and it would have been too far. Luckily enough when I checked the tour schedule the day it was announced in the library at school and saw "Denver, CO - May 7 - Pepsi Center" I started screaming and ran to the pay phone (before cell phones) and called my mom to TELL her we were going.

I think my son was 9 when we took him to see Paul at CitiField. The only problem really was the length -- 2 hours 45 minutes is tough at that age! (And not enough at my age...)

I was 14 at my first macca concert at Citi Field. I'd take any age! Paul concerts (with reserved seating in the US) don't get rowdy so I wouldn't be worried about that. But, you'd have to have ear protection. Really, anyone at the concert should but...ob-la-di, ob-la-da God-willing I have a child some day, I really hope the timing is right that they can be at a Paul concert at least once in their life, no matter the age really.
