And then I would try and make some kind of sense of the story. So it was like ‘Come on baby now. Talk about yourself. Tell the truth, let me get to know you’ and basically I wanna know how you feel, you make me wanna go out and steal. I just want it for you. So that was the basic idea and it developed from there… sort of a love song, but a raunchy love song. There you go – fuh you."

And Leslie, I think he meant literally to “go out and steal” something. In a joking way how in songs the guy will say “you make me want to do bad things.”

I think he was meaning "Let me look at you talking about yourself, show me who you are (I know it isn't easy being yourself when you first meet someone.) I can stay up half the night trying to figure you out, but it's easier if you're just being yourself, if I have to spend all night figuring you out I'll be too tired and would rather hit the road."
A lot to think about in those lyrics, lol

Can't stop listening to Fuh You. Brings me back to when I first listened and fell in love with RAM. Read some of the crappy reviews, and you know what, I don't give a fuh. Critics also hated RAM. Fuh You just has so many interesting components. This song just rocks, and rocks, and rocks. Thanks Sir Paul!

Good lord, Fuh You is dreadful. It brings back painful memories of "Press to Play" -- an awkward, painful attempt to produce something that sounds like the stuff playing on current Top 40 radio. Among Paul solo tunes I'd rate it in the bottom 20%, somewhere between Talk More Talk and Bogey Music. It is a bit of an earworm -- which no doubt explains its choice as a single. I already know my "most likely to skip" track on the album.

How dare you compare Fuh you to Talk More Talk or even Bogey Music. I listen to those on a regular basis, Fuh you will be skipped just like the other two released tracks when I play the album in full . . . . . My god, I hope I'm not skipping the whole album!

Yeah, me too. I would have been happy with this being the first and only single released so far. This isn't classic Paul, of course, but it wasn't intended to be, and it's really catchy and well done....and his voice sounds great...strong. That's a Major Plus for me. I can actually imagine it being played alot by people. The chorus is a great sing along and may well become one for any number of occasions. The first two somgs released didn't inspire me much. When his voice cocmes in on "I Don't Know," I winced at the hoarseness in a voice that needed to be rested before tackling the song. It gets better when his vocal is double tracked or some other harmonies come in, but it and the other song were just easy to dismiss.... pretty much. Maybe hearing them in the overall context of the album will make them sound better....

McCartney has always tried different sounds and styles, the variety in his music is one of the absolutely beautiful things aobut it!
Fuh You doesn't do it for me, it doesn't sound like Paul McCartney, it's too far away from his strengths to me. Of the three songs so far, Come On To Me is the best.
I wish McCartney would get away from all these type producers and get a producer that understands rock and roll!
Get his band in the studio and write in his style, and not worry about being contemporary. McCartney's roots are rock and roll not this current sounding stuff. I give him total credit for staying in the game and trying out new things, but his classic style of writing is more than good enough!

I think a true PAUL fan should produce his next album ( very soon I hope ). Paul has always wanted to see himsely as cutting edge. Well, GET BACK to what you do best and stop trying to be so contempary. NOBODY from this generation cares. But us ole die hards DO. Make some REAL PAUL McCARTNEY songs. Tried & true. We still love em.

I hope Paul just didn't "shoot himself in the foot" with the release of "Fuh You" as an "Internet" single.
Yes, it is catchy but judging by the tremendous amount of comments on "Youtube", the overwhelming number of responses are very negative. Here are the basic complaints:
*you can tell that many of the responders are actual Paul fans and they don't like the "too modern" sounds. The typicical reponse is....sounds like every other song on the radio today.
*Paul is back being "promoter Paul"...."Fuh You" is way too much of a gimmick type song trying too hard to attract attention. "Your better than this" is the typical response.
* The lyrics are way too suggestive especially for a 76 year old man...kind of creepy for a man his age

I want to wait and make a final judgement until I hear the whole album. "Fuh You" may be one I skip but at least it is only a little over 3 minutes. It is catchy and may fit well in the context of the whole album.
The problem I see with releasing it as an Internet single is that it might result in basic "negative" publicity. It could end up actually "hurting sales" for the whole album. Critics who dislike Paul to begin with, may put such a negative label on "Fuh You" (poster child for negatives reviews) that Paul's base audience won't buy Egypt Station. Many people who like Paul judging by the initial responses are already turned off. Paul's audience is Beatle sounding songs and "Fuh You" is certainly not it. Even if Paul is trying to appeal to the millenials and similar age groups, they certainly are not buyers of Paul McCartney. Highlighing "Fuh You" is a gamble indeed in my opinion.
I do like the other 2 songs..."I Don't know" is a classic Paul ballad and "Come On to Me" while modern sounding has much more Beatle/Wings elements and doesn't come off as a gimmick. Time will tell.

Could be a bad move on his part, but while we see him as a 76-year old man, that's not how he sees himself, and more power to him. If he did, he proabably would be doing nothing. What would or should a 76-year old man be writing about? Paul's legacy is untouchable. If there is negativity about this song, it will be but a tiny blip on his career. He could have stopped in 1970 and he would have been fine. That he has continued creating is something most artists aspire to, but just can't pull if off. My regret for him....and maybe this album....is that he didn't have his voice in the best shape possible. Touring and recording simultaneously was not a good idea. It doesn't show on the subject song...in fact he sounds great on it...but it does show on the otherwise beautiful ballad, "I Don't Know." When his voice comes in...sounding a bit too hoarse, I cringe.... maybe that will stop. We'll soon find out about all of it.

I would assume these are three of the better songs if they are released as singles and songs to promote the rest of the album.
Oh,I don't mind that,I'm not really into singles anyway and pefer the less commercial album tracks which usually are better songs. On the 'New' album my favourite track was 'Scared' and I don't think Paul even bothered to list that one.

I'm just one of those fans who isn't in the 'If its Paul then its got to be great' camp. He's written better songs that 'Fuh You'... hundreds of them in fact. Any Wings b-side would be a good starting place to find them.
