Thanks Steve I just heard 'em on YouTube for the first time, but many thanks for placing the links here, I love them both, went into more detail on my initial reactions on Paul's New Album and Promotion thread--he's cheered me up tremendously in these too often dire scarey times and has done it for us before

Really like the way he describes the album as a journey from station to station and looking forward to listening to it from start to finish in that context.

I really liked that too...makes me want to hear the whole album so much more now !!!

i love both songs equally.  “Come On To Me” reminds me of “I Can Bet” also.  I thought that song could have been promoted more at the time, as it was just as catchy!

One thing I really love is that Paul has put one of his great paintings on an album cover!!! I love his artwork so much and the videos for these songs are also fantastic in they’re  featuring  Paul’s artwork again.  I have to say that I’m so proud of Paul doing that.  He is a very talented artist and quite modest about it too!!!   Kudos to Paul on the latest songs! Can’t wait for the next songs

It amazes me that 2 boys from the same area in Liverpool, England would turn out to be not only great songwriters, but artists as well. Stir in George and Ringo with their talents and it was simply MAGIC!

I've heard "I Don't Know" and "Come On To Me" a couple of times each on Sirius (Beatles' Channel 18) plus I have seen the Youtube videos of each song as well.  Based on just these 2 songs, I'm quite optimistic for the whole album.

After digesting each song more, I think of 2 of Paul's previous albums....Chaos and Creation and Memory Almost Full.  I loved both of those back to back albums but they were very different.  Chaos was the classic, soulful Paul whereas Memory was the wacky, fun Paul (except for End of the End).

As I was hearing the piano based "I Don't Know" (which I really like!) it sounded like a cross between "Anyway" and "This Never Happened Before" that ends Chaos.  I love the chord changes and Paul's "older" vocals.  "I Don't Know" shows Paul's more mature, serious and vunerable side that he has often displayed in his latter era lyrics.

Then you hear "Come Home To Me" which to me sounds like Paul's fun, wacky side that you get on a lot of songs from "Memory Almost Full" (also Ram).  As I was watching James Corden's Late, Late Show featuring Paul,  I just loved the 2 of them singing this new "rocking bouncer" in one of the car scenes.  Don't know if this means anything regarding the success of the new "single" or the overall album in early September, but you could tell that James Corden really loved the song as he was car dancing.  James is much younger so maybe the song will catch on to the younger demographic.

James Corden was clearly touched  and very emotional by being in the presence of Paul.  He knows Paul will go down in history for his artistic accommplishments....and there he was, sitting right next to the man!

Ok, we have had a few days to let these two songs sink in.....

It's gonna be a great day...

Yeah, someone pointed that out earlier in this thread or maybe the promotion one.

Yeh I thought that too. Long time since I played Gone Troppo . I think it was a nice album but it  didn't do very well .

Listen to the song they sing,

Love it too that he's used his painting on the album cover!  I saw there were lithographs made of it in 1999, so he must have painted it before then.... I'm guessing between 1989-1998, because the way he portrayed himself in the painting looks like how he looked during that time.

I can't seem to find a thread here about the two new singles Paul has just released.  If there is one,  mods, can you move my post here?

but I just wanted to say that Come On to Me is one of his most suggestive lyrics ever.  It seems like it's what those who've had naughty wishes about Paul wishes he would say to them.

I know fans are diviced on both songs.  To me, each is pretty much his signature style and I enjoyed them

"I don't like you" "I'll get over it"

Haven't posted here in quite some time as I have been waiting on the next album which is FINALLY here.  Think "I Don't Know" gets my vote.  I like the mild echo on the piano notes.  Also, going on little sleep today so this fits my slowness better.  Both are typical Macca-they grow on me fast.

"I don't Know" sounds a bit hypnotic like putting you under a spell or in a trance, sort of, have only heard it  once but that's how it struck me to begin with

I was thinking the same thing on all of your great points, L2T.  COTM sounds a lot like "I Can Bet," mostly at the beginning of the song. It's all right to imitate yourself, I suppose (smile).
